Tiers:

Notes
Enhanced Night Vision Goggle III/Family of Weapon Sight-Individual ENVG III/FWS-I.

In today’s battlefield environment, it is critical for soldiers to be able to quickly locate and identify
targets, especially during nighttime operations or when visibility is compromised. Currently
soldiers use two different devices – night vision goggles for situational awareness and the
thermal weapon sight for aiming, which impacts how quickly the soldier can acquire and engage
the target. BAE Systems’ ENVG III/FWS-I provides dismounted soldiers with an integrated
thermal targeting system to illuminate the night. ENVG III/FWS-I eliminates the need to switch
between night vision goggles and weapon mounted thermal sights when acquiring or engaging
threats, improving soldier safety and mission effectiveness.

System
Alternative Designation: ENVG III/FWS-I
Type: Enhanced Night Vision Goggle III/
Family of Weapon Sight-Individual
Crew: 1 ea
Rapid Target Acquisition (RTA) Technology: Quickly
locate and engage targets from any location without raising the
weapon to the eye, keeping soldiers both safe and more lethal
12-micron Technology: Provides the sharpest image quality
in a smaller and lighter package, allowing soldiers to identify and
engage targets day or night, and in smoke, dust, haze, or fog
Intuitive Design: Easily switch between modes of use with
a touch of a button, improving situational awareness, and
soldier confidence.
Modes: Image overlay, picture in picture and scope only view options tailored to meet the multi-
environmental
conditions today’s soldier encounters
Transmission: Enables multiple units
to work in close proximity without interference and jamming
Battery Life: Extends mission time without
adding to pack load.

Fara-1 Russian Small Arms Radar Sight
Land Based Sensors > Russia (RUS) > PRO Russian Federation > Land > Russia (RUS) > Land >
PRO Russian Federation > Fara-1 Russian Small Arms Radar Sight

Tiers:

Notes
Russian army use also close combat, weapons equipped by radar sights along with the
optoelectronic sights.

Radar sights work in centimeter and millimeter wave bands that make it possible detecting
targets and providing weapons guidance at any time, in all weather conditions as well as
smokescreen and dustiness of atmosphere.

Portable Multiple Target Surveillance and Weapon Guidance Radar «Fara-1» (1L111) is used as a
radar sight in the Russian Armed Forces and was adopted in 1999.

Radar Sight Fara-1 is designed for moving land objects surveillance (single person, group of
people, armoured vehicles) and guidance of automatic grenade launcher AGS-17 type, single and
heavy machine guns such as Pecheneg and Kord.

Weapons guidance at a moving target is fulfilled by operator at the signal maximum from the
target reflection and with it the target range is determined by the radar indicator.

The radar sight manpack set is a portable device carried by one person in the folded state behind
an the pack.
Radar sight works in continuous emission mode. Complex signal with double modulation is used
for rain influence and flying birds avoidance in the radar near-field.

MP-DF 100 Israeli Manpack DF/COMINT system
Land Based Sensors > Israel > Land > PRO Israel > MP-DF 100 Israeli Manpack DF/COMINT
system

Tiers:

Notes
Designed for use by ground forces gathering intelligence in the field, the MP-DF 100 manpack
DF/COMINT system is used for interception and direction finding on a range of frequencies in the
band from 25 to 3,000 MHz. Performing wide-spectrum scanning, the MP-DF 100 detects,
locates and monitors signals of interest from specific locations.

The MP-DF 100 can be configured to operate in two main modes: hand-held or manpack. These
modes are differentiated by the size and type of their antennas.

The hand-held mode, which uses a 90° front sector antenna and sum-null DF, enables soldiers to
locate nearby emitters by advancing in the emitter's general direction and aiming the sensor in
the direction of the emitter (homing mode).

The manpack mode, which uses two types of small tripod-mounted antennas and interferometer-
based DF, enables mapping of the direction and frequency of existing emitters in the area. This
configuration, which includes GPS capabilities integrated in a PDA, can be carried in a specially-
designed vest or backpack, and used as a standalone sensor or remotely controlled.

9120 German Mine Detector

Tiers:

Notes
The PKI 9120 mine detector is designed for use on all grounds even on compact soils such as
volcanic soil or laterit, which makes it suitable for use everywhere in the world. In many regions
mine detectors can be influenced by a mixture of soils such as laterit, magnetic rock and by soil
conductivity due to monsoon rain. The wide band compensation of this PKI mine detector meets
such environmental working conditions and also rejects interference from saltwater due to its
pulse induction operating principle. Components subject to wear and tear can easily be
exchanged without further calibration work. This eases fault definition and significantly improves
equipment availability in the field. Rugged design and constructional features, coupled with
various accessories make the PKI mine detector a very versatile equipment, which allows use in
lying, kneeling or upright position.

PRO Russian Federation > RGB-3 Russian Remote Sensing System

Tiers:

Notes
Based on the Micro-MCA4 architecture, the RGB+3 is a remote sensing workhorse. This system
consists of four cameras: one RGB color camera that senses broad bands of red, green, and blue;
and three monochrome cameras that sense the following narrow bands: 680 nm, 700 nm, and
800 nm; these are generally understood as NDVI red, the "red edge," and NDVI NIR, respectively.
This configuration allows you the advantage of an RGB color camera as well as very precise
analyses, such as NDVI and SAVI, via the narrow bands.

The RGB+3 snap shutter sensors produce crisp images at very short exposures that are ideal for
mosaic building or operation aboard fast or low-flying aircraft. The RGB+3 is equipped with
standard Micro-MCA interfacing which includes a USB 2.0 interface for rapid system
configuration and image transfer, a serial interface for tagging each image with GPS coordinates,
live video interfacing, and a multi-IO connector (HDMI) with links to remote controls such as a
remote image trigger.
