AGRICULTURE CAREERS 1

Abstract
Agriculture has been a part of the country since the beginning and is still effective and growing

today. The United States today has 21.1 million workers in agriculture fields. Although the job

outlook for agriculture is set to decline, people will need to become more efficient with

technology as that is how this field of work is evolving. There is a very wide range of salaries for

people in the agriculture fields, from a low as $30,000 to highs as $120,000. For agriculture jobs,

no education is required, although there are specific fields where some education is needed such

as an agriculture economist, agriculture engineer, and agricultural food scientist and then

sometimes certification is needed to run certain machinery.

Although Agriculture drainage is a field where people find ways to solve water issues. Drainage

is not only used in fields, but it is also used in cities and new building developments. There are

many different jobs within the drainage field, first, there are surveyors who lay out the maps and

route the tile lines that are going to be put in. Next, locators dig up and locate old tile lines to

either replace the tile or fix it. Finally, operators run the tile plows and other heavy machinery

and put all the tile into the fields. The median salary for agricultural drainage workers is about

$60,000. There is no education required for drainage work, although a lot of training is required

due to the usage of heavy machinery. Lastly, the reason people should care about agriculture

drainage and agriculture abroad is that America is based on agriculture and can help continue to

keep a good environment.
