In spite of the advances made in agriculture, many people around the world still go

hungry. Why is this the case? What can be done about this problem?

In recent times, it is the fact that numerous resident in many countries still be
starved while there are several advances made in agriculture. There are a number of
reasons behind this phenomenon and several solutions should be adopted by
government to improve the situation.
Extreme weather and lack of budget are two main reasons associated with this
phenomenon. First of which is that unfavorable local condition such as drought
and flooding. Natural disaster has a negative impact on plant survival and
make it impossible to grow crops. To elaborate, many countries in Africa have
the low quantity of agricultural product due to its arid weather. As a result,
certain vulnerable regions still suffer from insufficient food production.
Another reason is the absence of agricultural technology in poor parts of the
world, meaning that people in these areas do not have access to efficient
tools to overcome obstacles faced in traditional agriculture. For example,
hand watering is still practiced in some regions due to a lack of irrigation
systems, while a shortage of fertilizers and pesticides may also lead to low
crop yields, thereby resulting in food shortage.
However, several solutions could be implemented to tackle this issue. First of
all, international aid can mitigate this issue. A simple solution to start with is
for developed nations to send humanitarian aid, including food, to help
people who suffer from food shortages. In fact, several countries with strong
economies have been allocating funds to keep food supply chains operating so
that people in countries in food crises can have access to life sustaining food.
In terms of technology, rich countries can send experts to help low-skilled
farmers in poorer countries adapt modern technologies, which can raise crop
yields and boost agricultural productivity in general. Also, teaching these
people how to conserve the newly adopted machines and introducing
weather forecast technologies can do wonder in preventing these tools from
being destroyed by the unavoidable. This means that there can be enough
food to feed the whole local communities, thereby leading to a decline in
hunger.
In conclusion, I believe that regional hunger can stem from limited access to
new technology and unavoidable factors. However, assistance from
international communities can be useful to alleviate the situation.
