1st MCG Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament kicks off

Basketball is a widely loved game, which is known to be good in helping to improve one's
endurance, coordination, concentration and self-discipline. It is a sport that a child can start
at an early age and be his foundation to keep a healthy and active life.

Mayor Crisostomo C. Garbo (MCG), being a good basketball player himself, gave an
inspiring message during the kick-off of the 1st MCG Inter-Barangay Basketball
Tournament (Developmental League of Mabalacat City) at the Xevera Residential Covered
Court.

MCG in initiating this tournament aims to let children (16 yrs. old and below) to experience
the benefits and difficulties of a healthy competition at a young age. The event started with
a motorcade with the assistance of Mabalacat City Traffic Enforcement Group (MCTEG).

The event was labelled as a success as MCG formally announced the start of the
tournament. This was followed by a heartfelt message given by PBA Professional
Basketball Player Arwind Santos who, together with City Vice Mayor Christian Halili
facilitated the awarding of the muses from different barangays.
This was led by staff of the Mabalacat City Sports Coordinating Office (CSCO) headed by
Jeffrey G. Cocjin, thru the initiative of the Mayor's Office (MO) and was hosted by Genereal
Services Office (GSO) Chief Jun Magbalot with the participation of Power Mabalacat City
Center for the Arts (PMCCA).
