What is this type of insurance?


Excess Protection Insurance provides you with cover to pay the excess payment you are required to make when claiming
on your Commercial Insurance policy.

What is insured? What is not insured?

Excess Protection Insurance ✗ Claims occurring outside the period of insurance of your

Are there any


restrictions on cover?
! You are not covered for any claim where:
• it relates to an insured incident within the first 30 days
of this cover being added to your Commercial Insurance
policy, if you have added this policy part way through the
period of cover on your Commercial Insurance policy; or
• the claim made on your Commercial Insurance policy
has not been accepted; or
• the amount of the claim is less than the cost of the
relevant excess; or
• the excess has been waived or reimbursed by another party

Where am I covered?

What are my obligations?

It is your responsibility to:


• Report to us full and factual details of any claim as soon as possible and give us any information we need
• Co-operate fully with us and the company we appoint to handle your claim
• Keep to the terms and conditions of this policy
• Take reasonable steps to avoid and prevent claims and avoid incurring unnecessary costs

When and how do I pay?

Payment options will be subject to the agreement between you and the person who is selling you this policy.

When does the cover start and end?

This cover will last for one year and the dates of cover will be included in your policy documentation. If in any doubt, please speak
to the person who sold you this policy.

How do I cancel the contract?

You can cancel this policy by telling us within the cooling off period which lasts for 14 days after taking it out. After the cooling off
period you may also cancel this policy by providing 14 days’ notice. Subject to the terms of business between you and the person who
sold you this policy, you may be entitled to a partial refund of the premium.

If you cancel the Commercial Insurance policy to which the Excess Protection Insurance attaches then this policy will be cancelled
from the same date.

It is important to note that charges may apply to any refund subject to the individual terms of business between you and the person
who sold you this policy. Please contact them directly for full details of charges.
