VI. RATIONALE :

Faithful to the commitment of the Department of Education (DepEd) to


quality teaching, it being recognized as vital to the attainment of desired
learning outcomes, the Department remains steadfast in the efforts to
anchor its human resource systems and actions on well-defined
professional standards for teacher quality.

Consistent with DepEd Order (DO) No. 2, s. 2015 prescribing the


Guidelines on the Establishment and Implementation of the Results-Based
Performance Management System (RPMS) in the Department of
Education and pursuant to Section 5 of DO 42, s. 2017 on the National
Adoption and Implementation of the Philippine Professional Standards for
Teachers (PPST), which mandates that all performance appraisals for
teachers shall be based on this set of standards, this Department has
been integrating and embedding the PPST into the RPMS of teachers
since School Year (SY) 2018-2019.

VII. OBJECTIVES :

The objectives of this activity aim to:

1. To describe the processes on the RPMS cycle in the new normal.


2. To Identify the different documents/outputs that should be accomplish
in each cycle/phase of RPMS
3. To accomplish the Self-assessment tool

VIII. TRAINING METHODOLOGY/METHODOLOGIES:


This orientation will be conducted in a 1- day session wherein
participants will be seated following the social distancing guidelines from IATF
wearing of mask and will be implemented, the resource speaker will give input
on how the RPMS cycle processes is being conducted in the school year.
After the process has been delivered, teachers will do their self-assessment
on where are they in the RPMS cycle. Selected teacher-participants will show
their outputs. Participants are also required to submit a soft-copy of their work
for their outputs.

Participants are required to do the following, prior to the orientation:

a. Secure his/her RPMS tools and materials in preparation for the self-
assessment
b. RPMS manual for S.Y. 2022-2023
