As a Government Hospital, we experience different kinds of
challenges, some in terms of governance, in terms of organization, in terms
of funding and some in human resource. However, since I have been with
the hospital for more than thirty (30) years, I have experienced numerous
changes, changes which are sometimes for the better or intended for the
better but could not be implemented properly thus, it did not result to
expected results or output. In a hospital setting, coordination, monitoring
and Evaluation are key to ensure our patients get the maximum care they
deserve. In terms of control and Directing, we do have administrative
officers and director of the hospital to give us office related orders and
enforce office related standard operation procedures but in terms of
operating our respective departments, we are given discretion on how to
manage the same.

In my case, as the chief radiologic technologist in our department, I

try my best to incorporate management of both office related work while
still doing my work as a radiologic technologist, we set meetings to
coordinate with other departments in handling our patients. The only
challenge I see with this is the lack of proper communication between the
departments. Thus, I suggest a policy of standardized communication
between the departments. Most of the time our standard operation
procedures clashes with the standard operation procedure of other
departments, thus it would help to have a policy of a general standard
procedure and coordination with all of the departments in our hospital. This
would help in ensuring that the hospital or organization will run smoothly
especially in a hospital setting that emergencies are frequently occurring.
