Dear Ma’am:
The Department of Education (DepEd) advocates for the protection of all children from online
abuse, exploitation, and bullying (digital safety). Subsequent to OUA Memo 00-0721-0002
dated 02 August 2021 entitled Pilot Implementation of the Be Internet Awesome Phase Il. The
Office of the Undersecretary for Administration (OUA), through the Information and
Communications Technology Service (ICTS), in partnership with Google and QSR will be
launching the Be Internet Awesome program that primarily aims to keep children safe online
and advocate for the same.
In this regard, may we request for your assistance in cascading the Be Internet Awesome
program in San Ildefonso National High School. The said activity will be cascaded on March 6,
2023 up to March 17, 2023. The activities will be conducted during classes in lieu of the
teacher-participant’s lesson proper, with the following matrix to wit:

IV. Rationale:
With the increasing use of digital tools for education, the need to discuss how people,
especially the youth, use, and act on digital platforms is more prominent now than ever.
Digital Citizenship is a vital aspect reaching the Department of Education’s mission to protect
and promote the right of every Filipino to quality, equitable culture-based, and complete basic
education where students learn in a child-friendly, gender-sensitive, safe, and motivating
environment, and teachers facilitate learning and constantly nurture every learner.
This seminar-workshop will be beneficial and positively impact the students and
teachers to make the most of the Internet and be prepared to make smart decisions.
V. Project Objectives
1. Discuss Be Internet Awesome 5 (five) pillars helping reach digital citizenship;
2. Engages the teachers to explore the utilization of Be Internet Awesome Program.
3. Prepare students to be safe, confident explorers of the online world.
