What was woodstock? Woodstock was an Open air music festival launched on the 15.august until the 18.

of
nineteen sixty nine. It had an audience of over 400 000 and it took place on max yasgurs dairy farm which
was over 240Ha. It was organised to bring peace to humanity even during the vietnam war.

Preporation
The whole woodstock was initiated by michael lang, Artie kornfeld, joel rosenman and john roberts.
Joel and Roberts financed it which was 3.1 million dollars and Michael was the Promoter.
Creedence clearwater revival were the first band to sign up for 10`000 dollars, after that all the other bands
came running.
They first thought only 50'000 people would come to woodstock which was definitely not the case

Bands played on Friday the 15th of august§

• Richie Havens 5:07 pm (started it since Sweetwater hat a delay)
• Swami 7:10 pm (gave the opening speech)
• Sweetwater 7:30 pm
• Bert Sommer 8:30 pm
• Tim Hardin 9:20 pm
• Ravi Shankar 10:20 pm (had to play through the rain)
• Melanie 11:00 pm
• Arlo Guthrie 11:55 pm
• Joan Beaz 12:55 am (was 6 months pregnant at the time)

Richie havens was the first to play, it was 5 pm and he started it since sweetwater had a delay,
next came swami, it was 7:10pm and he gave the opening speech.
Then Sweetwater 7:30 pm
Bert sommer 8:30pm
Tim Hardin 9:20 pm
Ravi shankar 10:20 pm, he had to play through the rain
Melanie 11:00
Arlo gutrie 11:55 pm
And last but not least joan beaz at 12:55 which was 6 months pregnant at that time
