The short film entitled "It's Not Worth It" is a must-watch microfilm because it's so interesting and educational. It gives us lessons about the importance and role of business ethics when it comes on business. The film demonstrates a variety of ethical issues that are actually present in the business world and are faced by both business owners and employees. On the microfilm, bribery was emphasized as an example of unethical behavior when the project manager, Johnny, asked the contractor, Tim, to use inexpensive or low-quality materials rather of high-quality ones in order to reduce the cost of the renovation of his house. In which Johnny threatened to abandon the project if Tim didn't accept his offer. After their conversation, Tim started to worry because he believed that if Johnny canceled the project, he may lose clients or have a harder time gaining new ones. However, the cafe owner advised Tim that he should not accept the offer by simply saying "It's not worth it. A simple phrase which helps him to come up with right decision where in he decided to report Johnny to ICAC which put him into jail. The result of his decision is that he receives more projects because he does his best in his works and provided high quality standards projects. In which the new project manager was impressed to his works and offer him more projects. The short film captures the reality in which these problems are actually present in the corporate world. Similar to Tim, there are others who must make the decision of whether to accept the bribe or not for a variety of reasons. Some accepts bribe because they are in need of money or some are scared to lose clients or their business and many other more reasons. But if I were in Tim's position, I will do the same. I would prioritize my customers' safety and the caliber of the service I deliver. Observing the law and placing a significance on business ethics. For the reason that the film itself shows that taking bribes and doing your task by simply finishing it, forgetting about the quality of your work, is not at all worth it. Perhaps it will simplify matters for you or for other individuals. You might also make a lot of money doing it, but won't matter if you break the law, inconvenience your clients, or most especially endanger their lives. It's still better to progress gradually and succeed little by little while putting out your best effort rather than achieving quick success through breaking the law and engaging in unethical behavior. Because you won't thrive fully or help your firm expand if you don't follow ethical standards when conducting business. Instead, it will negatively impact both you and your business. The short film taught me that we must give importance to and uphold business ethics when the time comes for us to enter the workforce or launch our own company. If we want our business to last longer as newcomers to the business world, we must make wise decisions and adhere business ethics and standards. We must avoid actions that might harm our business while also avoiding harming other people. While it is necessary for us to develop successfully, other people's safety and lives are as important. Another thing is that we should be mindful of any ethical dilemmas that may arise as we enter the business world. So that we can keep an eye on our behavior and prevent engaging in unethical behavior and breaking the law without realizing it. In which case understanding and upholding business ethics plays a significant role in the success and expansion of every organization. It acts as a guide for us so that we can continue to do business correctly and make the best decisions possible.
