2. Given the advantages and disadvantages of bilingualism, are you in favor of teaching children
two languages in the early stages of life? Yes or No. Why or why not?

- Yes, I believe that teaching young children two languages while they are still in an early age is
a very effective way to enhance their communication skills, because I believe that the child’s
brain can easily adopt and learn things more than the adult. So, in this case, they should teach the
children while they are still young, because they won’t forget about it and they can use it in the
future.

Lesson 3: Factors Affecting Language Development and Exceptional Development
Application
1. What will you do if you have a student with language disorder? What is the first thing
you will do to address his/her needs? Will you separate the child from your class or allow
him/her to stay and continue to provide the learning that he/she must have? Expound your
answer in not less than 10 sentences.

If I have a student with language disorder, the first thing I will do to address
his/her needs is knowing his/her strength and weaknesses so that I know how and
what are my strategies to help him/her learn in my subject. I will also communicate
his/her parents to help me assist their child and also to know his/her improvements.
Of course, the most important thing is that I will gain the heart and trust of that
student, so that he/she will not be afraid of me to ask for help and guidance. I will
constantly observe him/her, so that I can know if he/she improve or I should change
my strategies in that case, he/she will really learn. And lastly, I will try my best to
help him/her to learn and improve his/her skills; I won’t waste one single day
without single improvement of my student.
I won’t separate the child from his/her classmates because I believe that
his/her classmates will have a big help in his/her improvements. His/her
surroundings will motivate him/her to study and well and learn my lesson. It also
helps him/her to not be stress and think about being alone, because he/she have a
friend to lean on. In times of I am missing in action, he/she have a classmate to help
and assist him whenever he/she is struggling in understanding the lesson. I will
allow him/her to stay and continue to provide the learning that he/she must have
because that’s what he/she deserves.
