GROUP ASSIGNMENT 1: Conservation Agriculture in Global Food Production

INSTRUCTIONS

Choose a unique product from across the agricultural industries, including but not limited to:
a. Tree crop production
b. Vegetable production
c. Pasture/forage production
d. Dairy production
e. Poultry production
f. Swine production
g. Food processing
h. Input supply option (seed, fertilizer, pesticides)
i. Other as approved by faculty

Write a product profile report including the following:

• What is the past, current, and ideal (CA) local production of this product?
• What is the past, current, and potential global threats on this product?
• What is the past, current, and potential global opportunities for this product?

The format for the report should be as follows:

I. Header including the course code, course title, group member names, and date of submission
(upper left-hand corner)
II. Title of the assignment (centered; 10 words max)
III. Introductory paragraph about your product and the major topics you plan to cover in the
report (1 paragraph: 150 words max)
IV. Context: The past, current, and ideal (CA) for local production of the product (2-3 paragraphs;
300 words max)
V. CA status: The past, current, and potential global threats of the product (2-3 paragraphs; 300
words max)
VI. Global food systems: The past, current, and potential global opportunities of the product (2-
3 paragraphs; 300 words max)
VII. Conclusion paragraph including a summary of information covered and a take-away message
of the global situation for your product (1 paragraph: 150 words max)
VIII. List of references (APA format)
