7. Remove the adjuster sealing cap (11).

8. Use a ring spanner and the adapter (10) to turn
the hexagonal adjuster anti-clockwise until the 3
brake calliper is fully reset (until a clicking 10 11
sound is heard).

Never turn the hexagonal adjuster
without using an adapter. The
adapter is a torque safety device and
breaks off if the torque is too high.
Not using the adapter can damage
the mechanics in the brake calliper,
so that the brake calliper must be
replaced.

Never unscrew the thrust pieces (1) more
than 30 mm when the brake pads are
removed.
If the thrust pieces (1) are unscrewed
fully from the brake carrier, the complete 1
brake calliper must be replaced.

1. Press the wheel speed sensor (2) against the
sensor ring (1) by hand. While the vehicle is
being driven, the air gap between the sensor
and the sensor ring is adjusted.
If the sensor has no freedom of movement,
remove, clean and refit it with the prescribed
anti-corrosion agent.

increase or decrease the play. 2
11. Lightly grease the adjuster sealing cap (11) with
the specified mounting product and install it on
the slack adjuster.
12. Install the locking strip (5).
13. Press the strip and fit the yoke pin (6).
14. Install the washer (4) and the hairpin spring (3).
15. Install the cable guide (7) on the locking strip
(5).

16. Position the wear indicator cable on the cable
guide (7).
17. Install the cable protective plate (9).
18. Connect the wear indicator cable (8) onto the

Always torque and retorque
wheel nuts in cold conditions.
However, avoid torquing
wheel studs in extreme cold.
Inspection torque
Wheel nut 595 Nm(1)
(1) To check the connection,
tighten the nut or bolt to the
specified inspection value.
The nut must not move.
