Hi!

Our country created quite an impression on arising issues or issues already high up
in the air. For instance, the widespread affair that is the elections amassing 64
million interested population recorded to vote, surpassing the last national election
by 13 million, even withholding the population yet to exercise their rights to vote.
And the rallies where individuals put their heart into the rights everyone is entitled
to acquire. Not to mention the increase of users in mediums like social media and
news-sharing websites.

In short, the nation's abundance of issues is taking like a typhoon, swallowing the
population with vigor. It made me take a step back to take notice of what is
undoubtedly crucial in the foundation of our country. So let's dive deep into the
notion of political and societal issues in the general of a teenager.

NATURE OF POLITICAL AND SOCIETAL ISSUES:

So, what are Political and Social Issues?

"Political Issues" is defined as Any questions that deal with how power is
distributed and how it operates within the social organization. Also, how people
think about and engage in their communities and the wider world on matters that
affects them.

Societal Issues, on the other hand, are defined as Issues that encompass social
needs such as social equity, social responsibility, social support, social justice, and
so on.

Despite being categorized within specific branches, Issues seem involved with the
masses, but why is that?

For one, political issues are objectively known; you hear them everywhere! It eats
up a country's news headline, or a reputation turns undisguised, or it might make
for a controversial movie or the root of a Russian-level literary piece. It is
common, yet we feel it carries heavy bearings. It incurs an automatic tension and
incites warning shushes from careful tones. But the notion isn't anything locked up
in a chest, buried a hundred feet underground, in the furthest place on Earth. No, it
isn't a secret, or anything forbidden. Such reactions stem due to incapability.

In all actuality, it is something understandable. Politics is heavy; it is stressful,

enervating, and very involved. Given its definition, Politics handles the control
over government, the government that manages its states. The states, with its
people and its people making up a society, is heavy. It doesn't take any negative
justifications to establish this fact. After all, a country's population consists of
different individuals with varied needs is bound to be heavy.

So, we get this: Politics-and in connection, political issues- is very involved with
the masses because it handles the government that manages the needs of a
country's people. This handle of a multifold population, excluding even the
disadvantageous truths, is heavy. Therefore, making politics itself heavy.

Political issues invoke that big of an impact, and societal ones are, nonetheless.

In fact, given the involvement of politics in dealing with societal issues- say, the
"heterosexual rights" or the heavily controversial law that bans abortion- it is no
surprise that societal issues are even more out there. It gathered not only the adults'
attention but also the younger ones.

TEENAGER VIEWS:

Much like their older peers, there are invested teenagers in the causes and issues in
their country.

They are just as active (if not more!) in wielding digital media as a tool for change.
This is encouraging because, in addition to encouraging a host of prosocial skills
and attitudes, digital media creation is also a valuable civic tool that helps young
people recognize the power of their own voices in civic spaces. Social media,in
particular, allows teens to not only consume information and become an aid for
development, but to be active and creative participants in constructing their own
civic understanding.
The effortless access to social media makes way to sharing thoughts, interacting
with many kinds of opinions, and be influenced to build their own standpoints.

So, suffice to say, there is fortunately no absence of awareness within teenagers'

knowledge of political and societal issues. Honing our knowledge is crucial
especially to younger learning generations. Afterall, we are believed to be the hope
for a brighter future, and a promising future lies on our capability to understand the
marvels of our society.
