1) You were walking down the street yesterday and you passed by a museum. In the building
in front of the museum you saw some graffiti and paintings. This made you think about the
following questions.
2) As you keep on thinking about these questions, you decide to search the internet for some
answers. Google shows you the following definitions and images, and you try to identify
which image is an example of the different types of art.
● Fine art is a type of art that is created just to appreciate its own value and beauty. It
does not have another purpose and it is the kind of art we find in most museums.
● Street art is a type of art that is public and can be found on the streets. It is painted
on building walls or other places. Some street artists want to transmit a social or
political message, others just want to make their cities more beautiful.
● Graffiti may or may not be a type of art. It refers to photos, words, initials, or drawings
that are spray-painted or scratched onto walls, sidewalks, or any other public areas.

3) You realized that you were looking for more information on a webpage which is not very
reliable, so you think some of it may be wrong. You decide to tick the sentences that you
think are correct and make a cross on the ones that you think are wrong.
6) Your classmate didn’t come to class yesterday and has asked you for your notes on
street art and if it is permitted or not. However, you dropped some coffee over your notes
and they are a bit tainted. You complete them with information from the text.
3) Look at the verbs in bold and then look at the chart below. Which form of the verb is
used?
4) So…
● What's it like?
● Where is it?
● How big/wide/long is it?
● What colours has the artist used?
● How has he/she painted it?
● What message has the artist tried to communicate?
