The above stated matter refers. I write this letter in my capacity as the Professional Consultant to Halsted
Brothers (Private) Limited.

The Consignment Based Conformity Assessment programme (CBCA) was brought into being by Statutory
Instrument 132 of 2015, Control of Goods (Import and Export) (Commerce) Regulations. In terms of section
8(1) of S.I. 132 of 2015;

“8. If the Minister deems it within the national interest to do so, he or she may exempt any imports from
the provisions of this order.”

We respectfully request and apply for exemption from CBCA assessment on the container carrying the goods
detailed under the attached commercial invoice number 209 with a value of USD$192 689.68.
