EDITORIAL PLAN THE PANDEMIC IS
NOW AN ECONOMIC CRISIS
Thesis :
Editorial Plan That The Pandemic Is Now an Economic Crisis The
Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) pandemic is indeed devastating. Not
only in our beloved country Indonesia, but also abroad. The impact
was like a tsunami sweeping all aspects of life, be it social, religious,
economic to various other joints. All fields are affected, regardless
of ethnicity, nation, religion and race and social strata. This invisible
virus makes all parties afraid. Those affected also varied, ranging
from high-ranking officials, celebrities, the rich to ordinary citizens.
The victims have fallen a lot. And now, after terrorizing in terms of
health, the Corona virus has begun to terrorize the psychological
side and has penetrated into the economic crisis.
Arguments :
We do not have to go far to see examples of cases. Let's just look at our
own area of Lancang Kuning, especially Pekanbaru as the epicentrum.
The economic crisis has begun to perch. The community's economy,
which was previously sluggish, is now almost in limbo. Trade economic
centers such as malls, hotels are many that are closed. Several shops
have also closed their businesses due to the fact that it is no longer
economical to trade nowadays. The markets were also deserted as
many residents were afraid to leave their homes. And some companies
also have a lot of trouble and implement certain policies that have an
effect on the company's employees. There was a lot of employee
housing and layoffs. This is further complicated by the seemingly non-
stop policy of implementing large-scale social restrictions (PSBB). Of
course, we appreciate the government that is trying to protect its
citizens from this deadly virus.
The government has closed all forms of teaching and learning activities in
education, from early childhood education to universities. Several civil servants
and companies have also implemented work from home (WFH)
recommended by the government. Many residents also obey the appeal to
stay at home or stay at home due to fear of this virus. And all this has been
going on for almost two months. And now it doesn't seem to stop. The
continuation of the PSBB, especially in Pekanbaru after the end of the first
phase, seemed to shorten the breath of the economy even more. Residents,
especially the business world, who hoped that the PSBB would end after two
weeks of implementation, were disappointed because it was extended for
another two weeks. In fact, PSBB will be added for the entire Riau region. It is
feared that this will turn into an economic crisis and in fact it is now showing
its symptoms.
The people were angry with the government, especially Pekanbaru residents.
Initially, the residents hoped that the virus could be reduced and that the
budget provided for them from the APBD could be received while at home
during the PSBB.
REITERATION :
BUT IT TURNED OUT TO BE FAR FROM THE FIRE. AID WILL NOT
DROP UNTIL THE PSBB ENDS. AND MANY RT/RW REFUSED
ASSISTANCE BECAUSE THE DATA SUBMITTED WAS NOT
APPROPRIATE. ALTHOUGH THERE IS ALSO ASSISTANCE THAT
COMES TO A HANDFUL OF RESIDENTS. AND THE NUMBER OF
POSITIVE CASES INFECTED WITH THE CORONA VIRUS IS ALSO
INCREASING DAY BY DAY. AS A RESULT, UPHEAVAL AROSE.
MAYOR FIRDAUS MT RECEIVED A CONDOLENCE FLOWER BOARD
FROM STUDENTS. THEY SAID PSBB HAD FAILED. FUNDS OF IDR
115 BILLION FOR THE FIRST PHASE OF THE PSBB FOR 132
THOUSAND HOUSEHOLDS RECORDED BY RT/RW IN 83 URBAN
VILLAGES AND 12 SUB-DISTRICTS IN PEKANBARU. IN REALITY,
ON THE GROUND, ONLY 17,000 FAMILIES RECEIVED STAPLE
FOOD ASSISTANCE DURING THE FIRST PHASE OF THE PSBB.
AND STUDENTS ALSO QUESTIONED THE
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SECOND PHASE OF THE PSBB
WHILE THE FIRST HAD FAILED. STUDENTS ALSO ASKED
THE MAYOR TO RESIGN IF HE IS UNABLE TO CARRY OUT
THE COMMUNITY'S MANDATE. OF COURSE, WE ALL HOPE
THAT THIS PANDEMIC WILL END QUICKLY AND ALL THE
SIDE EFFECTS. COVID-19 WILL SOON DISAPPEAR AND THE
ECONOMY CAN RECOVER. RESIDENTS ARE TIRED AND
FRUSTRATED WITH THE CURRENT CONDITIONS. APART
FROM HOPING FOR THE ALMIGHTY, RESIDENTS ALSO
HOPE FOR GOVERNMENT POLICIES AS THE PARTY THAT
REGULATES THE JOINTS OF PEOPLE'S LIVES. HOPEFULLY
THE GOVERNMENT CAN CARRY OUT THE MANDATE GIVEN
BY THE PEOPLE AS WELL AS POSSIBLE.
