Objective:

To understand the importance of being or following leaders with a positive focus, which look for the

well-being of society and respect human rights.

Instructions:

1. Point out four aspects of your interest that happened during World War II. You can find

them in the readings or in the video that you need to watch for the activity.

1. I found it interesting how Hitler handled the German people's desire for retaliation to achieve

his political interests.

2. I found it interesting how the Axis and Allied powers were formed.
3. I cannot imagine the persecution of the Jews, that is why I find it interesting.

4. I found Operation Barbarossa interesting because it was a key point in the conflict.

2. Describe the economic, social, and political situation of the citizens of Germany and Italy

before World War II. (1/2 page).

3. Explain, in your own words, the term New World Order as Hitler wanted to establish.

The new world order was the political order that Nazi Germany sought to impose on the

territories under its rule, which implied the creation of a German racial state structured

according to its ideology, where the supremacy of the Aryan-Nordic race, the great -large-

scale territorial expansion through its inhabitants; the annihilation of the Jews was sought, as
well as the expulsion or enslavement of the majority of the Slavs, among other "unworthy"

races. The objective was thought to lie in the invasion of all of Europe to finally achieve an

invasion on a world scale.

4. Write the names of the US presidents who faced the World War II. Write down some

biographical facts of your interest about Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

The presidents of the United States who faced World War II, were mainly Franklin Delano

Roosevelt and in the last months Harry S. Truman; Here are 3 cool facts about Roosevelt:

• He was reelected 4 times, although the last possession was very short due to his death.

• Defined liberalism in politics and rescued a country mired in poverty and unemployment to

take it to the top, positioning it as an international leader.

• He was the only president to break George Washington's rule of running for two terms.

5. Identify a person who has a type of leadership different from the ones of the German

Führer or Truman. This person should have influenced a nation or the entire world with

ideas that promote peace.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was an activist for the liberation of India from the British

through non-violence. In short, he was a leader who achieved the liberation of his country

through a peaceful revolution. In his last years two social protests include the salt march and

the demand for the independence of India from the British Empire. Gandhi was assassinated in

1948, but he has always symbolized peace in the world. And one of their famous phrases that

got me specifically about peace is this: “There is no way to peace, peace is the way”.

6. Make a comparative chart in which you write the positive advances before the World War II

and nowadays:

7. Write a conclusion about the humanity progress, according to the comparative chart.

Humanity itself has advanced in all areas, it has learned from its mistakes such as

unnecessary wars, but it has a long way to go to take care of the planet. In these last 100

years the human being has done unimaginable things in terms of discoveries and

achievements, but they neglect the most important part which is the place that has allowed us

all this, the earth.

8. Write a reflective essay about the importance of being a positive leader or supporting

positive leaderships. Describe the benefits that this behavior could bring for your family and

the community.

A leader to follow is one who sets an example not with what he talks but with what he does. A

life of justice, truth, love of neighbor, hope, optimism carried out by someone who wants the

best for us humanity and would give his life for it as well as many great leaders such as

Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Malala and so many more than they teach with their
example of life they would make me good leaders to follow. For me the behavior of this leader

apart from his lifestyle is how he confronts problems and adversities and if it belongs to the

person who if they slap him and turn the other cheek or if they ask him to carry a mile a bag of

flour and that person carries it two miles, that is the right person in terms of behavior as a

leader to follow without hesitation, a great leader like Jesus. Being a good leader will lead

people to do good things, both your family and the community that follows you because the

good leader will always be required and followed with love and the bad leader will only lead his

followers to perdition. and nothing nutritious and positive.
