Luke 16:19-31

My son, remember that during your life  you had your fill of good things, just as Lazarus his
fill of bad. Now he is being comforted here while you are in agony.

Reflection: This phrase truly strucked me the most because I have been living life enjoying
good food, good things, and sometimes I complain a lot when I have less of the blessings I
have needed and asked for. When I come by beggars on the street, I have become used to not
giving them attention and mercy when they asked for money because I have been told
“maanad na sila, naay usahay magsige pag balik-balik” and I have come to think that if you
are truly sincere that you want to give even if you come pass them many times, you will
actually give them some of your blessings because you can imagine what they have gone
through every moment of their lives in the street. The gospel of today has reminded me that
what burden I am experiencing now, will be rewarded greatly in heaven, what I am suffering
now in the name of the Lord will be replaced with comfort in heaven. So I must live humbly
and not in luxury for God is watching and there is always a reciprocate to what we have here
on earth so never be blinded by the earthly things and be an instrument of God to spread
compassion and love to others in need.
