Project Resource
A proposal to support: Water Protection program in Sta. Catalina.
Initiative by: Ms. Sweetie F. Gargar, CEO of Shareholdings Hotel.

Motto: Together we envision and create a safe and sustainable

environment. Service to God and Mankind.
We are located at: Purok 1-A, Trias Village, Brgy. Cawitan Sta. Catalina,
Negros Oriental, Philippines.
Organizational background:

Project resource is a registered non-government organization

launched in 2020 in collaboration with Conservation International to
combat the threats of water resource by preserving watersheds and
the forest and provide innovative solution to improve quality of living
by ensuring projects that deliver clean running and sustainable water
to thousands of Filipino people living in far flung and poor
communities. To accomplish our objectives great deal of careful
planning, communication and local involvement is a need in every
project.

Our objectives as an organization is to accomplish the following:

➢ Improving attitudes and awareness among the community on

the critical importance of maintaining a clean and healthy
watershed which is linked essentially to their livelihood, food and
water by teaching villagers to ensure protection and participate
in tree planting activities and also forest and river cleaning
activities.
➢ Funding and installation of Hydraulic ram pump- a renewable
energy option that brings water closer to communities to ensure
reliable access to water resource in every village.
➢ Forming a community organization for continuous status update
on water system in the community and watershed preservation
activities for long term-impact.
Program and Activities:

These activities will help promote water conservation and watershed

preservation and encourage behavior change through awareness.

1. Create interactive activities and orientation sessions where

community participants work alongside environmental
advocates and artists to inspire, activate and sustain knowledge
and deeply embed the local realities and needs for water
resource management and watershed care. Activities such as
art exhibit, Film viewing about the global problems concerning
water scarcity and water pollution to increase the community’s
sense of involvement and empowerment.
2. Visit local communities in far flung areas with problems in clean
running water supply and identify ways to integrate access to
potable water via ram pumps and install it in safe places.
3. Facilitate tree a planting activity and community garden
activity, every 2 months near watersheds and the forest with
clear canvases.
4. Install a flowing rainwater drainage that directly proceeds to the
community garden to have efficient and working water supply.
5. Have a river and stream clean up event.
6. Water leak surveys around homes and communities.
7. Encourage youth and community members to build stronger
connection with water in their community through community
projects and activities which strengthens the Filipino values of
Bayanihan.

Recruitment of members:

Volunteers are very helpful for a healthy community. People from all
walks of life provide their time and effort to various causes, day and
night, every day of the year. Members of Project Resource for Water
Protection Program will recruit members through mass media
platforms and public bulletin that run columns profiling the need for
volunteers, their position in the organization and the promotion of the
organizations’ cause and contribution to the community.

Public education about the organizations’ purpose, strategies, scope

and funding will also be provided during baranggay visitation for new
volunteers who are willing to be part of the organization.

strategies. With the economic crisis that was caused by the Pandemic
new strategies have been reformed for the continuous funding of the
programs and activities. Seedlings of Mahogany and Narra are being
sold by the organization for a considerable amount, that which
accomplishes both the funding and environmental aims of the Project
resource in creating a healthy, safe and sustainable environment.

Board of Directors Meeting to ensure expense statements.

Strengths of Project Resource

➢ Project Resource allows good efforts to immediately activate
and enable people to improve the communities where less
fortunate and unsupported people live in.
➢ Project Resource have projects you can trust. We conduct site
visit in remote areas that government agencies do not reach
and target areas with low quality of living.
➢ Project Resource provide training and support. We offer tools
and training and one-on-one support to help people get the
resources they need such as water supply and train them on
water sustainability and environment management for
watersheds.
➢ Project Resource care for the environment. As an organization
committed to mission, we respond quickly to environmental
concerns such as natural disasters and support recovery of the
forest and trees that impact water sustainability.

Weakness of Project Resource

➢ Project resource scope is centered only on the water supply and

watershed sustainability of the community and does not include
scope of feeding the hungry, medical check-ups and providing
monetary support which is the most concern in far- flung areas.
➢ Project resource is unstable mostly on funding and refuse to
receive from government funds thus providing possible limits to
operate.
➢ Project resource prioritize far-flung community areas.

I chose the role of becoming a businesswoman because in

organizations like this, I want to contribute on the needed resources
and funds in the start and foundation of Project resource. In line with
that, with my knowledge and skills in managing a business I can also
contribute with the systematic organization and conduction of
activities and with the help of my members. I can also use my
connections to other profit companies and private individuals who
are willing to cooperate with their donations for the fulfillment of the
activities, ensuring trust and partnership for the good and
improvement of my beloved community. A business-oriented person
can have a lot of interest that leads to the development of themselves
and other peoples lives. With my power, influence and voice I can
inspire people of my field and all the people to care for the
environment as it is the only shared wealth we have. For the future
generation lies in our hands we have to make changes, that will bring
a brighter future and a life full of accomplished dreams for nothing is
impossible if you put your mind to it.
