STRATEGIES FOR SOLVING
EXPONENTIAL AND EXPONENTIAL AND LOGARITHMIC
LOGARITHMIC EQUATIONS EQUATION
1. Rewrite the original equation in a
form that allows the use of the

2. Rewrite an exponential equation
in logarithmic form and apply the
Inverse Property of logarithmic
function.
3. Rewrite a logarithmic equation in
exponential form and apply the
Inverse Property of exponential
function.
Example:
1. e-x2 = e-3x- 4

4. 2 log5 3x = 4

SOLVING LOGARITHMIC EQUATION

To solve a logarithmic equation, you
can write it in exponential form.
Example:
1. In x = 3 5. log (5x) + log (x – 1) = 2

2. log3 (5x – 1) = log3 (x + 7)

PROGRESSION
Arithmetic Progression
An Arithmetic progression is a
sequence in which each term after the first is
obtained by adding the same fixed number,
called the common difference, to the
preceding term.
