HOW CAN I EXHIBIT STI 4C’S IN THE MIDST OF THE PANDEMIC

AND IN SPITE OF THE COMMUNITY QUARANTINE?

An STIer is a person of character who accepts accountability for his or her deeds,
respects others, and leads a moral life. A critical thinker is a STIer. An STIer discerns and
challenges one's views through objective examination in order to further create original
ideas. An STIer communicates to understand and be understood; when presenting
information, whether verbally or in writing, he or she expresses his or her own emotion
and acknowledges the emotion behind the material read or heard. Last but not least, a
STIer is change-adept. They use this skill to manage when a need for transformation or
transition emerges in order to strengthen their own capacities and the community to which
they belong.
We are currently going through a global crisis, and I think the STI 4c's can help us
deal with it. The first is critical thinking. To study and evaluate many pieces of pandemic-
related information, we need strong critical thinking abilities in this situation. The second
one can communicate well. In this pandemic, being a good communicator with others can
help us receive and send accurate information about our condition. An STIer communicates
to understand and be understood. By conversing with others, interacting with them, and
exchanging information and ideas about the new normal, this can improve our
communication abilities. The second trait is character, which I think we can demonstrate
by treating others with justice, fairness, and respect. As a community, we need to band
together to battle this illness by simply adhering to the recommended health precautions;
this would greatly assist our brave frontline soldiers. The change-adept is the last one; we
need to be change agents. In times of crisis, it's important to be adaptable and make
necessary changes for the sake of our families and ourselves.
As our days in quarantine lengthen, the COVID-19 epidemic continues to disrupt and
endanger lives all around the world, and we are all noticing a change in our way of life.
Eating out, visiting relatives, hanging out with friends, and even just running errands are
activities we used to take for granted but now we either have to do without or we have to
be extra cautious about. I think my ability to think critically, communicate well, have high
morals, and adapt well to change will help me deal with this new normal.
