ACTIVITY 2.2

CHUKY MOVIE SUMMARY

The movie Child's Play, known in Spanish as Muñeco Diabólico, was released in the United States
in November 1988. In it, Good Guys dolls were heaven for all children, so the nice Andy Barclay
(Alex Vincent), a 6-year-old boy was not going to be left out. After urging his mother several times
to buy him one, his mother's friend tells him that there is a homeless man selling the doll for
cheap. His mother decides to buy it for him as a birthday present. Obviously, the Good Guy doll
that receives Andy is the one that contains the soul of Charles Lee Ray. Ergo, the doll -who calls
himself Chucky- is the murderer, who wishes to avenge his death and relies on the complicity and
confidentiality of a happy boy who does not stop idolizing him and complying with each and every
one of his requests in order to seize the child's body In summary, it is a dark film that used both a
well-dosed suspense and the interesting terrifying shock that a child's toy turned into a killing
machine supposes. At the end of this tape, Chucky fights tooth and nail (and kicks, and knives)
trying to defend himself but after being burned in the fireplace at the hands of the child, he
reappears burned to be shot and dismembered by the mother, "dies" from a shot to the heart
fired by the same detective who killed him in his human form.
