Inflation ruining lives! How long will last?

This was been a problem for a long time but yet it hasn’t
been fixed. Everyone suffers because of too much
problem that the Philippines have. The pandemic is still
here, ruining and affecting so many lives and yet so many
problems show up. One of it is Inflation. The reason why
basic goods and fuel are absolutely pricey.

The department of Transportation (DOTr) announced

that there will be free bus rides for commuters at EDSA
busway, from December 15 to December 31. According
to Transportation secretary Jaime Bautista said that their
objective was to serve commuters working during the
holidays, especially for the extension of mall hours and to
help commuters who are dealing with pricey food and
high prices of fuel due to inflation. Although, The Metro
Rail Transit 3 (MRT 3) and the Light Rail Transit (LRT)
authority said that they will not be extending their train
operations despite the adjustment of mall hours. The
program for the EDSA bus Carousel is set to expire at the
end of the year and will not extend due to lack of budget.

For sure a lot of filipinos are happy about the “Libreng

Sakay” Program, but will it cure the inflation that is
happening right now? These days a lot of stuff are really
pricey especially food and fuel which makes families
suffer even more. The free bus ride program was a
temporary solution for the problem we are facing now.
The prices of food and other commodities went up,
again. How come that the prices of oil, fare of
transportation and basic goods gets up faster than the
salary of filipino citizens. Usually it’s the laborer,
minimum wage earner and senior citizens who suffers
the most. Its hard for them to budget their salary. For
example Juan dela Cruz earned 479/per day, He has 5kids
including his wife which total of 6 members of the family
how would he be able to budget his salary into half for
paying bills? How the poor family survive with their
means of income that the breadwinner earns. They have
to pay rent, food, bills education, utilities and a lot more.
Even if they want to save up, they can’t because all their
money goes to expenses. I feel bad on how simple
filipino citizen suffers, I hate the fact that some kids have
to work for their family instead of studying, they gave up
education just to work to get income and help their
parents but nothing happens, yet there are still poor
because of the minimum wage they get. One of the
issues we experience is the natural calamities, floods can
destroy harvest as well as homes which can depress
prices due to lower demand of products from farmers.
And also, When the US dollar is high, the value of peso is
low, No foreign investors wants to invest that can lead to
economic failures, Therefore many filipinos will not have
any source of income. What if emergencies happen? So
instead of going rising we will go downhill.

I really hope that the government will increase wages

and lower the prices of fuel and basic goods to make
families less suffer from this dilemma. More government
projects, more investors create jobs. Poor families and
wage earners need help from our government now.
