“AIDS Infect Education System in Africa”

The education system in Africa was greatly affected by the increasing rate and cases of
AIDS in the area. According to the World Health Organization, almost 70% of the active
cases belonged in sub-Saharan Africa. That is why it is pointed out to be one of the major
causes of the sudden decrease of enrolled students in schools.

Due to the alarming situation, both teachers and students are feared to get or be infected.
On the side of teachers, it’s either they resigned or leave the country. That is why the
teachers assigned to those areas are poorly trained and sometimes don’t have enough
knowledge and experience to teach. As well as the students or children who was the
primary victim of this incurable transmitted disease. The sudden loss of their parents
makes those children stop from studying. Many of them were forced to make a living at a
very young age in order to support their family.

I think sub-Saharan Schools could do better if they are continuously spread awareness
with regards to the possible impacts of AIDS and at the same time prohibits or avoid pre-
marital sex particularly in teenagers. These simple actions might help sub-Saharan Africa
to rise again.
