A Reflection from the

“Three Letters from Teddy”

Out of so many books and stories I’ve read before, I think this is one of the most
heartwarming one. The story of teacher Elizabeth and Teddy made me realize that
the duty of a teacher doesn’t stop inside the 4-sided classroom and one-single
moment can change everything optimistically. Teddy taught me that success in
life can’t be measured with high scores in exam or how fast learner you are, instead
it is about how we be able to cope with these undying multiple challenges of life.
My favorite part was his three (3) letters for Miss Thompson, and this really caught
me off guard, imagine how pure his heart is, even before he knows that Ms.
Thompson dislikes him, Teddy always make ways to understand his teacher
because he treats her as a replacement of his mother.

As for Miss Thompson, I admired how brave she is to admit her mistakes because
it is very unusual for people to accept their faults especially if you are a teacher. It
is truly that “what a teacher writes on the blackboard of life can never be erased”,
from the very beginning she was the one whose always there for Teddy, she cares
for him, but the fact is she just not aware of that. Miss Thompson really make a
difference in Teddy’s life that would make her an exemplar of a good teacher and
at the same time a mother.
