Junior Majors Exhibition Product Proposal

Product Description: I want to produce an interactive gallery where I can display art that I have
completed throughout my internship. I will provide materials for spectators to attempt the
different art forms displayed in my gallery. When I do my exhibition presentation, I will explain
the art forms and how to use each one, then after the presentation, I will allow each spectator to
attempt any of the different methods displayed.
Included benefits:
- Creating an informational website, and including a tab for each different form of art
explaining what it is, research on the art form/its history, and the materials required.
There will be a QR code under each art form linking to the tab with the information on
the art form. (Links will be included for materials and sources used)
Ideas for art forms (as I go through my internship I will be learning new forms to include) :
- Scratchboard
- Oil paint (on self-stretched linen canvas)
- Acrylic on canvas
- Erasing charcoal
- Observational drawing/drawing from life
- Recycling leftover paints (abstract)

Essential Question:
How can I help spectators find the art form that they feel passionate about?
- How can I get my spectators to walk away and want to gain a greater interest in the
arts/different art forms?

How does your physical product help answer you're essential question?
My physical product will give the observers an example of the different art forms in real life. It
will also give them the opportunity to attempt the art form, and if they want to learn more, I will
provide them with the information needed. When presenting, I hope to inspire them with my
beliefs on how prominent art can be regarding mental health.
How will your product provide engaging, interesting, and relevant insight into your Majors
experience?

- Engaging/Interactive (ex. Photography intern will walk the audience through how to
take the best photos using their cell phone): I want to include a couple of the different
forms of art I have witnessed or attempted throughout my internship. Not only will I
include an example, but I will also include the materials to try each one. With those
materials, I feel my audience will be more engaged in my presentation.
- Interesting: To keep my presentation engaging and interesting I want to discuss how I
believe art is an incredibly important/useful tool in maintaining your mental health. In
order to do this I will provide them with statistics as well as real-life examples.
Hopefully, with this information, my audience will be more inclined to attempt an art
form.
- Relevant: Due to the sheer amount of different forms of art, many people may love art,
but not enjoy the typical drawing and painting. But, there's so much more than that to art,
and I want to give people the opportunity to try something new and maybe find their
passion.
