TimberMatic F-09

CommandCenter version 1.12.5

11112011
New program version is launched for E-series forwarders. TimberMatic F-09 ver 1.12.16 is available for
machine, machine laptop and laptop simulator installations. Machine installation package of F-09 (PC
software version 1.12.16) includes program version 1.12.5 of controllers which is used in CommandCenter
forwarders too.

Factory installation is started from machine serial numbers:

WJ0810E # 2570
WJ1010E # 5139
WJ1110E # 3429
WJ1210E # 1234
WJ1510E # 1689
WJ1910E # 1133

All CommandCenter forwarders can be programmed by the controller version 1.12.5 or newer.

New features and improvements, versions 1.10…1.12:

New menu structure and features of user interface of CommandCenter are implemented.
Calibration wizard and logics of the cabin rotation sensor are improved.
Calibration is compatible also with the pulse sensor of PSL cabin bearings.
New icons are added on run mode of CommandCenter: suspend mode of boom and boom
following, forced Eco drive mode, 810E; boom slew floating and ASF.
Cabin rotation requests must be activated in every restart by
double-clicking a cabin request button. “Auto” text will appear
on the cabin symbol. Activation must be done on run mode of
F-09 when there is a service laptop connected.
Version number of the VTC is shown in CommandCenter.
Automatic requests of cabin rotation are available if the
parameter CAB, ID7150 is set to 1
(BYPASS_PC_OFF_AND_CABIN_ROT_SWITCH)
Reading of home position pulse of the boom slewing sensor
can be changed by the parameter BOC, ID404
(BOOM_ROT_PULSE_SENSOR_ENABLE_HOME_POS_PU
LSE):
0 = home position pulse is read once after start-up (default)
1 = home position pulse is read all the time.
Automatic levels of cabin movements are active as default in
CommandCenter forwarders.
Outputs of clambunk options are in FRC.
Downgrading of F-09 is no more possible without removing the installation first.
Removal of TimberMatic F-09 program will remove also the folders and databases.
Machine selector feature is improved in the F-09 machine laptop version.
System synchronization window has direction of transfer as “Controllers -> PC” as default, except
after controller update.
All needed HEX files of controllers are located in C:\Timbermatic files\ControllerSW\1_12_16.
Other improvements will be listed in a solution of F-09 and H-09.

CommandCenter service connection and update of controller version 1.12.5

by TimberMatic™ F-09 machine laptop software 1.12.16
This is normal upgrade to TimberMatic F-09 machine laptop software ver 1.12.16 which is available in
Dealernet – John Deere Forestry: Service Forestry – Software Downloads – E-series. Needed application is
“machine laptop” and file name is TimberMatic_F09_Install_Machine_Laptop.exe.

You can make service connection, manage parameters, update controller software and also reload older
HEX software to controllers by the newest F-09 PC software. Don’t load newer HEX files than what is the
generation of PC software of F-09. All controllers must have the same software version number in normal
cases. Step-by-step instructions of upgrade of controllers of a forwarder from previous version to the version
1.12.5 can be found from following pages.

PREPARATIONS OF LAPTOP

Make sure that Service Advisor ver 4.0 is installed and licensed. Install also a new SA update by a monthly
DVD or Software Manager over network.

Ensure that Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 runtime is installed before installing TimberMatic.
TimberMatic versions 1.16 … 1.12 include installation of Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Client Profile and
Extended). Make sure that they appear in programs list before / after installation.

The USB-CAN adapter must be EDL or EDL2.

Make sure that JDServiceLock.exe is on the laptop.

Make clean upgrade if there was a TM F-09 laptop simulator or machine version earlier. This must be done
also if the existing version is older than 1.1.x.
Uninstallation will remove databases of all forwarders and existing machine information will be lost. Make
backups of all machine database files if needed.

1. Rename the following folder or copy database files if you want to take backups of databases:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\John Deere Forestry\TimberMaticF.
2. Uninstall any previous version of TimberMatic F-09 in Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs.
Following TimberMaticF folders will be removed:
C:\Program Files\TimberMaticF
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\John Deere Forestry\TimberMaticF.
Remove the folders manually if needed.
3. Uninstall (TimberMatic) HPC07 CAN drivers if exists.

New F-09 machine versions may have installed also “HPC07 CAN drivers” to programs list. It must be
removed from laptops because it prevents CAN connection of F-09 / EDL from working.

Installation of TM F-09 machine laptop software:

1. Load the installation package file to the folder C:\Versions\ver_1_12_16 or similar location (the folder
must be created).
2. Execute the installation file TimberMatic_F09_Install_Machine_Laptop.exe (several "next" buttons
during installation).
3. Wait until the installation has finished. Finish the installation by clicking the "Finish" button.
4. The program asks to restart the computer. Click "Yes". Computer will restart.
5. HEX program files will exist for all controllers in C:\TIMBERMATIC FILES\ControllerSW:
CAB, BOC, FRC, TRC, and VTC are needed in a CommandCenter forwarder. IDC software can be
loaded to controllers to recognize ID resistors if several controllers have no program inside.
