1. Inspection of the pillar
1.1 Check if there is a horizontal step on the rear side of the pillar, pictures 1 and 2.
Possible step is in the middle of the rear surface. The size and shape of the step
may vary.
1.2 If there is step, check if the painting is peeling or there is any visual indicator of
crack on the step.
1.3 If there is no crack and the painting is good, continue from chapter ”2. Grinding”
of this document.
1.4 If there is a crack or painting is peeling, take contact to DTAC Tampere.

2.1 Grind the ”ok” marked area, pictures 3, 4 and 5. The idea is to completely remove the

horizontal notch created by the machining tool.

2.4 The surface must be
smooth and flush
after the grinding and
the radius must be
adjusted to the
surrounding
surfaces, picture 6.

3.1 The end result should be
polished surface without
steps or bulges, picture 8

3.2 After grinding and polishing, clean the pillar carefully.
3.3 If there is no crack, paint the pillar carefully.
3.4 If there is a crack take contact to DTAC Tampere.
