QUESTION  [12]

1.1 Load shedding is a planned, controlled process that the government apply to manage (1)
electricity supply  in the country to help the system from a total blackout.

1.2 Stage 4 refer to number of hours during a day which the electric supply is being cut off  (1)
from certain communities to help the government to recover some electricity.

1.3 The children want to consider one another when they use the table lamp to ensure they (1)
don’t disturb those that need to sleep early while others wants to use the table lamp.

1.4 We would like a bed lamp that does not exceed 350mm  (3)
The shade can be round/ square 
Material for the shade must be heat resistant since the light will get hot 

1.5  Must provide enough light during studies or homework without disturbing others. (2)
 Must be connected and operated by two switches. 
 Should not break easily. 
 The table lamp should be attractive  (any two)

1.6 Must provide light to only one person.  (2)


Must be switched on at two locations. 
Used only in the evening or when it is dark. 
Must be powered by a battery so that it can be used during load shedding. 

QUESTION 7

7.1 Mining pollutes the water sources such as rivers through pumping wastewater into (3)
rivers.
Mining causes air pollution. 
Mining destroy the land and biodiversity 

7.2 Mining can provide job opportunities.  (2)
