Javier is from Monterrey Casanare and his family has a cattle-producing farm, while

Andrés works in Casanare, Tauramena. These two municipalities are neighbors and are
the largest producers of oil in Casanare.
They are located to the south east of Colombia at a distance of 320Km the capital
Monterrey produces more cattle than Tauramena but Tauramena produces more
agricultural products than Monterrey, The municipality of Monterrey older than Tauramena.
the municipality of Tauramena is the richest in Casanare and Monterrey is one of the least
rich in Casanare these municipalities are also highlighted because they are the oldest oil
producers in the region
The municipality of Monterrey is bigger than Tauramena, its economy is
based on agriculture and not oil.

 The first days of January the summer festival is celebrated, it is the


most important celebration of Casanare, in coleo, El coleo is better in
Monterrey than Tauramena, Monterrey attracts more tourists than the
Tauramena fiestas.
Monterrey and Tauramena are not the most popular municipalities in Colombia but they are very
important municipalities because they produce food and oil
Tauramena is the first pineapple producer in Casanare, the pineapple
produced in Tauramena is the sweetest in Colombia. The pineapple produced
is better sold in Bogota than in Meta

the pineapple that is produced in Tauramena is thanks to the climate because it is one of
the driest in the region. It is the best pineapple in the world because it was produced in
Hawuai and then imported into Colombia for its production.
In both municipalities there are two rivers, the river tuna in Monterrey
is shorter than the river Cusina in Tauramena, the river Cusiana is the
most important river to use its water for the extraction of oil
these two rivers represent the advantage to extract the oil.
To get to Monterrey and Tauramena there are three routes. The worst way
to get there is via LLano and it is the most dangerous in the country.
Then it's time to take the Via Sogamoso-. Pajarito-Yopal, which is longer
than the Vias al Sisga.
