Invitatory Antiphon and Psalm Tone

Psalm 95
a Come let us sing to the Lord
b and shout with joy to the Rock who saves us
c Let us approach him with praise and thanksgiving
d and sing joyful songs to the Lord.

a The Lord is God the mighty God

b the great king over all the gods.
a He holds in his hands the depths of the earth
b and the highest mountains as well.
c He made the sea; it belongs to him,
d the dry land too, for it was formed by his hands.

a Come then, let us bow down and worship

b bending the knee before the Lord our maker.
c For he is our God and we are his people,
d the flock he shepherds.

a Today, listen to the voice of the Lord.

b Do not grow stubborn, as your fathers did in the wilderness
c when at Meribah and Massah they challenged me and provoked me,
d although they had seen my works.

a Forty years I endured that generation.

b I said, “They are a people whose hearts go astray
and they do not know my ways.”
c So I swore in my anger,
d “They shall not enter into my rest.”

a Glory to the Father and to the Son

b and to the Holy Spirit
c as it was in the beginning is now
d and will be forever. Amen.

GOSPEL CANTICLE
Canticle of Zechariah

a Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;

b he has come to his people and set them free.
C He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
D born of the house of his servant David.

a Through his holy prophets

b he promised of old
a that he would save us from our enemies,
b from the hands of all who hate us.
C He promised to show mercy to our fathers
D and to remember his holy covenant.

a This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham:

b to set us free from the hands of our enemies,
C free to worship him without fear,
D holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.

a You, my child shall be called

b the prophet of the Most High;
a for you will go before the Lord
b to prepare his way,
C to give his people knowledge of salvation
D by the forgiveness of their sins.

a In the tender compassion of our God

b the dawn from on high shall break upon us,
C to shine on those who dwell in darkness
and the shadow of death
D and to guide our feet into the way of peace.

a Glory to the Father, and to the Son,

b and to the Holy Spirit:
C as it was in the beginning, is now,
D and will be forever. Amen.

4
GOSPEL CANTICLE
Canticle of Mary

a My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,

b my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
C for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
D From this day all generations will call me blessed:

a the Almighty has done great things for me,

b and holy is his Name.
a He has mercy on those who fear him
b in every generation.
C He has shown the strength of his arm,
D he has scattered the proud in their conceit.

a He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,

b and has lifted up the lowly.
C He has filled the hungry with good things,
D and the rich he has sent away empty.

a He has come to the help of his servant Israel

b for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
C the promise he made to our fathers,
D to Abraham and his children for ever.

a Glory to the Father, and to the Son,

b and to the Holy Spirit:
C as it was in the beginning, is now,
D and will be forever. Amen
