CHAPTER SUMMARY
Chapter 1: Cole Matthews was under arrest, he robbed a hardware store and he totally trashed it. A boy named Peter Driscal turned him
in, and Cole beat him up very bad. Garvey first showed up and gave him a chance to join Justice Circle instead of jail.

Chapter 2: Cole didn’t trust anyone but he has no choices, he would go to the island and find a way to change. Edwin told Cole about
spirit bear and other things, Cole said he didn’t afraid of anything. Edwin and Garvey would help Cole to change but not wasting time.

Chapter 3: Cole was on the island and they talked about Peter and the forgiveness, Cole didn’t care if Peter forgive him, and Garvey
said forgiving wasn’t forgetting.

Chapter 4: Garvey said life was a circle. He joined the Circle Justice meeting, it made him feel uncomfortable.

Chapter 5: Cole tried to leave the island by swimming in the sea and get out but he failed. In the night Cole first saw the Spirit Bear. Cole
warned the bear that he saw it again it would be a dead body.
Chapter 6: Cole thought about the Circle Justice meeting and it made him angry, Cole also reminded his past about how his dad hit him
and his mother retreated him. Garvey and Edwin gave him a chance to walk his talk, and they talked to Peter’s parents as well.

Chapter 7:  The Spirit Bear reappeared, Cole said to it that he would kill it, but it just vanished again. But later when the bear showed
itself again, Cole started forward, gripping the knife and aiming the spear at the bear’s broad white chest.

Chapter 8:  Cole tried to kill the bear, but the bear was much more stronger than Cole and it beat Cole nearly to die. When Cole woke
up, he thought himself was a fool cause he would be safe in jail, and soon he felt so small in this island and he started to cry because of
loneliness.

Chapter 9: Cole felt sad cause nobody ever cared about him and nobody cared if he died. When the darkness came, the Spirit Bear
appeared again, but it didn’t return to kill him. Cole saw baby sparrows, and he kept thinking about them

Chapter 10:  Cole saw baby sparrow died worthless, and he thought to himself, he thought that he was the one who deserve to die. But
this time he wanted to live, he was hurt very badly but he tried everything to keep living.

Chapter 11:  Cole tried everything to survive, he started to eat insects or everything that can full his stomach and drink the rain, this time
he wanted to live instead of dying even though he knew that he deserve to die.

Chapter 12:  Cole was scared that the Spirit Bear came back to kill him, but it didn't. And this time, Cole dare to touched it. And then, a
strange thought occurred to Cole: The world was beautiful. He had trusted and been trusted, that was enough. When he almost died, a
voice sounded "Hang in there, champ!"

Chapter 13:  Garvey and Edwin saved Cole's life, and Cole liked to be helped. Garvey said he saw a lot himself in Cole, but neither
Edwin nor Garvey believed that Cole truly saw the Spirit Bear. Cole always wanted to prove himself was right, but this time he didn't, he
just smiled that he wasn't lying.

Chapter 14:  Six months later, Cole was alright and but he had a bad arm since the attack. People wanted Cole to go to jail and end his
life in there, they asked him why had him broken his contract with the circle.

Chapter 15:  Cole explained how mad he was and how stupid he was, too. People also asked about the attack, cause nobody believed
that he saw the Spirit Bear, but Cole said he didn't just saw the bear, but also touched it. He had to jail, but Edwin and Garvey still want
to trust him, so they sent Cole back to the island to see if he really changed.

Chapter 16:  Edwin and Garvey went to the island to stay with Cole until he build a cabin himself. Edwin and Garvey taught Cole a lot
about how to live in this world happily, and how to get rid of the anger. At night, they celebrate for being alive.

Chapter 17:  They let themselves dance about feelings, Cole couldn’t understand it. The next morning, Edwin led Cole to a pool and
they went swimming, in the icy water they get rid of madness, and they talked a lot about life.

Chapter 18:  They danced again, and Edwin showed Cole a rock and told him that set down the rock and roll it down the hill, imagine his
anger rolling away. But the first time seemd didn’t work very well cause Cole was mad again.

Chapter 19:  Every night they danced, imagine that they were animals. Garvey said people could always learn something from animals.
Cole screwed up again, and they were mad at him, cause they thought Cole changed but Cole didn’t show it well. Cole regrad about all
of it so the next day he went to do everything himself, when he started to go back , he saw something large white shape disappearing
into the tall trees below.

Chapter 20:  Cole didn’t know should him tell them that he saw the bear again, and he was also afraid that if them would believe him. At
night they danced the Spirit Bear dance. And then Garvey and Edwin left, Cole said that he would be okay.

Chapter 21:  After Garvey and Edwin leaving, Cole went to soak and carried the ancester rock everyday, sometimes Edwin came to see
him, and told Cole that Peter was not alright and he was in a deep depress. They also talked about a dance of anger, but Cole was not
ready for that.
