Today we will be working with “47 Ronin”. This book is based on a true story and it is
perhaps the most celebrated discussion of loyalty, honour and warrior ethics in Japanese
history.

After Lord Kira’s death, Oishi sent one of the ronin, a young man named Terasaka, to
Hiroshima to take the news of the attack to Daigaku, Lord Asano’s brother.

Work in pairs. Write the conversation between Terasaka and Daigaku. Then, act it out in
front of the class.
