Assessment Task 1:

Formatting of a document helps in not only reading the document more efficiently but also
creates consistency throughout the whole document which creates easiness for the reader and
make your document stand alone in other ones. Depending upon the type of audience and the
type of data that we need to present, we decide which parts needs to be included in the
document like headers, footers, tables etc. for example if there are lot if numbers involved in
the presented data, then table and graphs would be best, similarly if we want to demonstrate
any procedure then flow chart will be best etc.

After completing every document, it is subjected to revision and removal of errors. Also the
overall structure of document is assessed again so that if there is any improvement needed,
then it is done.
Q3
White space is the unused area of the paper. It is often called negative space. Margins, gutters,
space between words etc. comes under it.
Heading is the word or group of words which at the beginning of the passage that explains what
this passage is all about.
Header is top margin of the page a footer is the bottom margin. They are used to include such
information which we want to show on all pages.
Font is the major category of word whereas typeface is the variation of that font category like
bold, extra bold etc.

Human and machine both have work capacity i.e. they can work continuously for certain
amount of time after that machine will heat up and human gets tired. Both of them needs rest
for limited amount of time. The ergonomics and rest requirement during the rest time really
increase the productivity of the worker by reducing its stress, muscle pull out etc. The break
time gives a little rest to worker body and brain which eventually increases the focus of worker
in the further working hours.

Style guide is the set of standards in which specific type of writing, formatting etc. are fixed
throughput the whole document and other connected document. This creates user readability
and consistency throughout the whole document and creates unique impression of the
document.

It is important to understand the type of audience because it helps us in determining that what
kind of information depth we need to include in the document and how to add information
whether it should simple or complex. If the information is presented correctly only then we can
acquire the attention of customer and earn their respect and can enhance our communication
otherwise we will lose everything.

These formatting styles are very important since they help the reader in analyzing the
document easily and find out the important information as quickly as possible. Moreover it help
to determine the trends and pattern present inside the information of the document. There will
be less chance of missing any important information because of styles.

I have choose our company to be the food restaurant. The name of our company is ABC
Restaurant.
Part A:
Following are the things that are checked properly in order to work efficiently in the office:
a. Proper ergonomics are followed i.e. height of table and chair are in accordance and
proper support is there for arms.
b. All the required documents and notebooks are close to desk.
c. Monitor are placed at right height values and proper distance.
d. Mouse is placed right next to the keyboard.
Following are the things that are checked properly before leaving the office:
a. All computers and monitors are switched off.
b. All the printers are switched off.
c. Dispose the recycle properly.
d. All the lights are properly switched off.
