WORLD HIGHLIGHTS

 INTRODUCTION
The Inauguration Ceremony of the President and Vice President of
Indonesia 2019-2024, Jokowi-Ma’aruf Amin was held on October 20, 2019.
And, after the inauguration ceremony of the president and vice president,
continued the inauguration of minister who served in the “Indonesian Maju”
Cabinet on October 23, 2019.

 DISCUSSION
This inauguration program not only caught the attention of the country,
but also became the media spotlight foreign. Singaporean media, The Straits
Times reported on the inauguration of the Indonesian president with a title
“President Joko Widodo faces test of leadership in second terms ”While from
Canada, a media called CBC wrote an article with the title “Indonesian’s Joko
Widodo sworm for 2nd term as president.” Not to forget, the media from
Kalispell, the US also preached with the headline “Indonesia’s Popular
President Sworm in for 2nd term”
In the inauguration speech after talking the oath of office dream until
2045, Indonesia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) can reach US $7 trilion.
“Indonesia has entered the world’s top 5 economy with poverty approaching
zero percent. We must go there, “Jokowi stressed in his civil speech after the
inauguration. It’s just that Jokowi emphasized that all dreams and optimism
did not come automatically, did not come easily because it must be
accompanied by hard work.
Jokowi also emphasized, in a world full of risk, which is very dynamic,
and competitive, Indonesia must continue to develop new ways, new values.
Don’t let us get stuck in a monotonous routine. Innovation should not only be
knowledge. Innovation is culture. Based on BPS data, Gross Domestic
Product at current prices (ADHB) in quarter II-2019 reached Rp. 3,96635
trillion and based on constant prices (ADHK) IN 2010 reached Rp. 2,7352
trilion. “Indonesia’s economy in the second quarter 0f 2018 grew 5.05%.
Production, growth is driven by almost all fields of business, where growth
the highest was received by other services business fields which grew
10.73%, BPS wrote in its report. A total of 34 Jokowi minister and four

1. Nadiem Makarim

Makarim who served as junior minister from the country in the list of
ministers of Jokowi volume 2. A number of ministers with relatively

2. Sri Mulyani
Sri Mulyani again became a minister in the Jokowi's government
cabinet. He was elected as finance minister for the period 2019-2024.
Sri Mulyani's election as finance minister apparently stole the
world's attention. A number of foreign media raised news related to his
election.
French media, Euronews.com, raised the issue of the election of the
former Minister of Finance of the United Indonesia Cabinet in an article
titled "Indonesia's Indonesia to stay on as finance minister".
"Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said on Tuesday
that he had been asked by President Joko Widodo to remain in his post ...,"
Euronews.com was quoted as saying on Tuesday.
While from Asia, the New Straits Times, reviewed the issue in
"Indonesia's Indonesia to stay on as finance minister". The Malaysian
media highlighted that the ministerial candidates invited to the Presidential
Palace all wore white shirts and most refused to confirm the position
offered ahead of the official announcement on Wednesday, October 23,
2019.
The election of the first Indonesian woman who had been the
Managing Director of the World Bank as finance minister also stole the
attention of the Bamboo Curtain Country. The South China Morning Post
published it in the article titled "Indonesia’s Jokowi keeps finance minister
with rock star appeal, Sri Mulyani, in the new cabinet".
Canadian media, BNN Bloomberg, also co-wrote that Asia's best
finance minister in 2006 was re-elected as finance minister in the
Indonesian Cabinet of Work volume II, with "Indrawati Reappointed as
Finance Minister in Indonesia Cabinet".
From the UK, the Reuters news agency reviewed the election of Sri
Mulyani in the second period of the Indonesian President's administration
in an article titled "Indonesia's Indonesia to stay on as finance minister".
3. Prabowo
Indonesian President Joko Widodo's decision to appoint a former
rival during the 2019 Presidential Election, Prabowo Subianto as a
member of his cabinet in the second presidential period, reaped the
spotlight of foreign media.
The Singapore newspaper outlet, Strait Times, highlighted Jokowi's
decision to make Prabowo the Minister of Defense of the Republic of
Indonesia with a headline titled; "Indonesians are angry, disappointed over
Jokowi's decision to include Prabowo in the new Cabinet."
"The change in the position of his party (Gerindra led by Prabowo) -
being pro-government - has long been anticipated after his talks with the
Jokowi bearer party, PDI-P," wrote the Strait Times correspondent in
Indonesia, Linda Yulisman, quoted on Wednesday (10/23) / 2019).
Meanwhile, Qatar's Al Jazeera media also highlighted the news titled
"Indonesia's Widodo appoints challenger Prabowo to the Cabinet."
"Indonesian President Joko Widodo, on Wednesday, appointed
Prabowo Subianto - opposition leader Jokowi during the period of his first
presidency and sole rival in last April's fierce elections - as defense
minister, a move that is expected to reap controversy," wrote Al Jazeera,
quoting the office Reuters international news.
The Japanese magazine outlet, Nikkei Asian Review, wrote a story
titled, "Jokowi brings rival Prabowo into the broad Indonesian coalition."
"Indonesian President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo brought key opposition
leaders into his new cabinet on Wednesday, where he sought political
stability to push for difficult reforms until the removal of the capital,"
Shotaro Tani wrote to the Nikkei.
Meanwhile, the United States business media outlet, Bloomberg,
commented; "... Prabowo Subianto, challenger (Joko) Widodo in the 2019
and 2014 presidential elections, entered the cabinet to expand the coalition
party supporting his government to nearly 75 percent of seats in
parliament," wrote Arys Aditya and Viriya Singgih for Bloomberg.com in
an article titled ' Jokowi's Cabinet Is a Blend of Politicians, Tycoons, and
Technocrats'.
Sharp reviews came from the British newspaper outlet the Guardian,
who wrote a headline titled 'Dark day for human rights': Subianto named
as Indonesia's defense minister. "

 CONCLUSION
Based on the above discussion it can be concluded:
1. Inauguration of the President and Vice President of Indonesia 2019-2024,
Jokowi-Ma'aruf Amin, and the Inauguration of the Jokowi Cabinet
Volume 2 greatly influenced foreign media.
2. The composition of the new Cabinet is of interest to foreign media because
it is very useful as information to foreign investors.
