Sources of error

Upon conducting the laboratory experiment, there were a few errors that occurred
and lingered during the laboratory experiment. The first one is the human error. As
this experiment is done manually with the help of the apparatus, human errors is
inevitable. There are times when starting the timer and opening the outlet are not
simultaneous. This can lead to inaccurate data. In addition to that, coordination
between the people conducting the experiments can also result to errors. Another
one is the parallax effect. Upon doing the experiment, we are to observe the level
of the liquid while observing the time rate. There is a apparatus where you can
manually see the level of the liquid. And viewing it from a different angle gives out
different levels of the liquid. That is an error that gives out inaccurate data. One
last error we observed was the meniscus effect where the liquid is not leveled and
there is a curvature that is a probable cause of error.

Significance

Whether a fluid flows in a laminar or turbulent manner depends on how its particles
move in relation to the substance's layers. Laminar and turbulent flow has a
significant impact as to how weight and energy are transmitted, therefore
understanding the difference is crucial in engineering. Proper and correct
application of the experiment gives out broad knowledge to the experimenters and
the difference of turbulent and laminar flows are demonstrated through this
experiment.
