"The hardest battle is between what you know in your head and what you feel in your heart.

"
Many people in this world have a different battle between their minds and heart. Should
they choose their dreams and desire, or should they think practically? There are many what-ifs.
Many times we overthink that what if we choose our heart and our dreams, will it make us
happy? Will we regret it? What if we choose our minds? Can we live the life we want to live?
There are many nights that we cry and wonder if the choice we make was right.
Mostly minds win, we always choose to be practical, and we sacrifice our dreams and
desires. Somehow it's good to think practically in this world. But thinking practically will also
mean sacrificing our dreams, sacrificing the things that will make us happy. When making life
decisions, we must also consider our hearts; our minds and heart must be in sync if we want a
happy and simple life and not end up more miserable.
Going back to our previous topic, we discuss happiness in the Basic Universal Human
Values. The desire that we fulfill gives us contentment in ourselves. It brings us joy and peace
because were doing the things that we love and things that will make us happy. It satisfies our
desire without a hint of evil.
This short story shows the daily struggles between our minds and heart. A man named
Paul has two sides of his personality: his pragmatic brain and his spontaneous heart. His heart is
distracted by his desire or the thing that will make him happy such as eating pancakes, wearing
cute sunglasses, and going to the beach. But his brain stops his heart from doing such things and
sets him back on track. His heart and brain argue his way to the office. While Paul doing his job,
he suddenly stop because he doesn't feel happy and syncs with his colleagues. He becomes more
miserable, just like his colleagues. Until lunch came, the mind and heart get along. The brain lets
the heart do the things that make him happy. And all the negative thoughts that the brain have is
already gone the moment that he let his heart do the things he wants to do. And when he goes
back to the office, he does his work happily it influence his colleagues and his senior members.
Many of us experience this kind of battle within ourselves. Letting our minds always win and
sacrificing our desire and dreams. Overthinking and being afraid to do the thing that will make
us truly happy. Our happiness and change come first from within. We need to make decisions
coming from our hearts and minds. We need to listen to our hearts, but we also need to be
realistic.
But always remember that God is the true source of happiness, hope, peace, and strength
within us. If we surrender our hearts and minds to him, we will receive true happiness from him.
Be the people of God.
