Assignment (30%)

Ethiopian TVT curriculum development follows a competency-based philosophy where the focus is
on mastery of occupation-specific competencies (knowledge, skill, & attitude) which are required by
the labour market. The framework given below is designed to show curriculum development loop in
Ethiopia’s TVT system. Work in group of 5-6 members each and produce a 10-15 pages’ report
including the preliminary section (cover page, introduction, table of contents, abbreviations &
acronyms, and executive summary). Remember the following remarks, please

 the deadline to submit the assignment is one week after 25/12/2022


 submit it in print form, packed in ringed or any packing alternatives
 use 12 font size, 1.5-line spacing, Times New Roman font style, and 1-inch side, top and
bottom margins

Questions

1. Define each of the phrases given in the steps (Occupational standard, unit of competence,
learning outcomes, module curriculum, TTLMs, and competency assessment) [5pts]
2. Identify the responsible bodies to carry out the tasks in each of the steps and state their
roles and responsibilities [5pts]
3. Critically evaluate the alignment between the steps (support your explanation with
evidences by asking experts and from your experiences) [10pts]
4. Based on your learning from unit five of the module, identify the rhetoric-reality gaps that
prevail in each step of Ethiopian TVT curriculum development framework (Ask experts from
MoLS and also include your experience of curriculum development) [6pts]
5. Based on your learning on curriculum theories and models, suggest recommendations that
could help to develop a quality curriculum for Ethiopia’s TVT training, please recommend for
each of the steps [4pts].
