We have just begun our 2015-2016 marching season at Stephen F. Austin High School. I am very excited and
honored to be a part of this fantastic band program. This year during our fall season we will be competing at
numerous highly-competitive marching band contests. We are competing at the Friendswood Marching
Festival, Music For All’s BOA Conroe, Lone Star Marching Preview, and the USBands REMO Series Finale in
Conroe. Although the parents pay an initial fee, there are still many various costs that need to be covered to
help finance the marching band show. Music and drill writers, props, guest clinicians, equipment truck
maintenance, buses to contest, and lots of snacks, water, and additional meals are all necessities that help make
our season memorable and successful.

As with any quality band program, the cost to fund our marching and concert seasons is very high. In an effort
to help offset the cost, we are sponsoring our annual “Rock-A-Thon.” On the evening of Friday, August 14th,
we will begin to “rock” the night away in the school cafeteria until early Saturday morning. During the
evening, we’ll play several team-building games, watch videos of the band, and have a midnight marching
rehearsal in the parking lot.

Please consider supporting my fellow band members and me as we prepare for a very memorable year. Your
financial contribution will mean so much to me and to the success of the Bulldog Band this year. Any amount
you wish to donate will be used to enhance our experience and make the organization even stronger.
