Low Cost Unmanaged Ethernet Switches

Description
The ConneXium model TCSESU family of Unmanaged Ethernet Switches support Ethernet 10 Mbit/s and
Fast Ethernet 100 Mbit/s communications and includes 4 models that range from 3 to 8 ports
configurations. All models of the TCSESU Unmanaged Ethernet Switches support copper cable
connections (TX) using RJ45 Connectors, and one model includes 4(TX) ports for copper cable connection
and 1(FX) port for Multi Mode fiber Optic cable. The Unmanaged Switches are low cost connectivity device
that do not support the range of services available in the managed switches

Models
The ConneXium TCSESU family of Unmanaged Ethernet Switches includes the following models:

TCSESU033FN0 3 Port Unmanaged Switch (3TX)

TCSESU043F1N0 5 Port Unmanaged Switch (4TX – 1FX Multi Mode)
TCSESU053FN0 5 Port Unmanaged Switch (5TX)
TCSESU083FN0 8 Port Unmanaged Switch ( 8TX)

Overview
The ConneXium model TCSESU Unmanaged Switches are designed to meet the operating
requirements for industrial environments. These switches include RJ45 copper ports, supporting
cable runs up to 100 meters. The model TCSESU043F1N0 also includes a Multi Mode Fiber Optic
port that uses a SC type connector, supporting cable runs up to 5000 meters using 50/125 mm
fiber cable.

The ConneXium model TCSESU Unmanaged Switches are suited for small and simple networks
that do not carry critical network communications. These Unmanaged Switches do not require any
configuration prior to connection to the network.

Switch Capabilities
Store and Forward All data received is stored and checked for validity, all invalid frames
(greater than 1,522 bytes or with CRC errors) and frame fragments less
than 64 bytes) are discarded, and valid frames are forwarded.

Multi-Address Capability The switches learn source addresses on a per-port basis. Only packets with
these addresses in the destination address field are sent to the ports, a
switch can learn up to 1000 addresses.

TP/TX Interface Link Control

The switches monitor the connected copper cables segments for short
circuits and interrupts using regular link test pulses in accordance with IEEE
standard 802.3 for 10/100 base-T. The switches do not transmit data to
any segment without link test pulses.

Autopolarity Exchange
The switches automatically reverse polarity if the receive line pair is
incorrectly connected (when + and - are switched).

Autonegotiation
The switches automatically detect link communication speed (10 or 100
Mbit/s) and half-duplex/full-duplex communication port operation

Autocrossing
The switches detect the transmit and receive pairs (MDI, MDI-X), and
automatically configure each port for the correct transmit and receive pins.
This allows the use of either a crossover or straight cable.

F/O Interface Link Control
(fiber optic) The fiber optic port on the switch monitors the connected F/O line for
interrupts using idle signals during frame pauses (in accordance with IEEE
standard 802.3 100 base-FX). The switch transmit data only to F/O lines
from which they receive idle signal.

Far-End Fault
The optical transmission distance F/O port can monitor optical input power
level at the optical port, if the power falls below the low light level, the link
becomes inactive and the ACT/LNK LED is turned off. Both the
receiving and transmitting direction can be monitored, if the connected
device also supports far-end fault.
