Understanding Ecosystem Interconnections

Everything in the environment is connected, from living things to natural processes and cycles. Human activities have significant impacts on ecosystems because we are all interconnected - for instance, improperly discarded garbage degrades land and water quality, affecting other organisms' ability to survive. To maintain a balanced relationship with the environment, humans must be caretakers of the Earth by conserving and protecting resources for future generations, as the complex interdependence between all parts of an ecosystem means we all depend on its proper functioning.

EARTH SCIENCE 1Q

✔ Environmental Principle
- Everything is connected to everything else. –

Everything is connected to everything else. Life and nature have processes and cycles that they go
through. Each factor concerning these cycles is unique and is somehow associated. Human interaction
with nature oftentimes alters ecosystems. Thus, we can say that regarding the issues of resources, human
activities have unprecedented effects because, after all, as inhabitants, all our actions are connected to the
consequences we are experiencing now. For example, the garbage we discard incorrectly results in the
degradation of the quality of the land and water. This could consequently weaken their ability in
providing other organisms with necessary things vital for survival. To make this a mutual relationship, we
don't only take, but we should all be stewards of the earth to conserve and protect our precious resources
for generations to come. This intricate and interwoven relationship in the ecosystem makes us all a
functional unit; it is only fitting to do what is due to us.
