APA Multi-Author Citation Guide

To cite multiple authors in APA style, the in-text citation lists all authors last names and the year in parentheses. In the reference list, all authors are listed with their first and middle initials followed by their last name, in the order they appear in the source. If there are more than seven authors, only the first six are listed followed by an ellipsis and then the final author.

In-text citation:

(Author1, Author2, & Author3, Year)

Example: (Smith, Johnson, & Brown, 2020)

Reference list:

Author1, A. A., Author2, B. B., & Author3, C. C. (Year). Title of work. Publisher.

Example:
Smith, J., Johnson, K., & Brown, L. (2020). The Impact of Social Media on Young Adults. Sage
Publications.
