MAXMOVE CARRIERS

MaxMove carriers are equipped with the

MaxMove Multimobile System which allows
movement in all directions and rotation around
centre point. This mobility provides the following
advantages compared to conventional products:

• Increased safety and ergonomics due

to the simple and easy control system
for smooth movements
• Increased usability especially at most
cramped and difficult-to-reach working
areas
• Improved productivity and ergonom-
ics with added tools and handling
equipments
• Increased productivity due to faster
transport and positioning
• High potential for customized mobility
solutions

The unique mobility modes are achieved by the

following main features:

TILTED WHEEL
CTI provides following mobile MaxMove carriers:
The wheel unit is both driven and steered. It is
tilted to provide a vertical drive shaft and can Working Platforms
rotate 360 degrees around its drive shaft. Due to Lift Tables
the tilting angle, the wheel is rolling while steering, Telehandler
which prevents friction between the wheel and the

ground.
Engine Loader
TWIN WHEEL
The main difference between the tilted wheel
series and the new 450 twin wheel is the heavy
duty application, where machine loads exceed MaxMove Telehandler
20,000.00 kgs. Nevertheless, the twin wheel offers
the same kind of freedom when it comes to move-
ment as the tilted wheel series.

CONTROL SYSTEM
The carriers are being operated by an
intelligent control system. It is the interface
between operator and wheel unit ensuring easy
and logic navigation. It grants the whole potential
of the wheel units. The wheel units can be
controlled independently of each other, which
provides a huge range of motion patterns.

MAXMOVE MOBILE
WORKING PLATFORMS

Advantages:
Most flexible aircraft access
One system only covers service tasks
at the entire fleet
Easy and quick aircraft approach
Minimum of aircraft downtime

The grading into four sizes in standard

versions will make it easy to choose the best
fitting size for individual service requirements.

Micro / Mini version:

Best for services inside the wheel well compart-
ment, along the landing gear or lower fuselage
areas.

Maxi version:
Best for services along the fuselage major
working level, windscreens, engines and pylons,
leading and trailing edges at wings and horizontal
stabilizers.

Mega version:
Best for services at top fuselage areas, upper
wing, horizontal and vertical stabilizer areas.
Equipped with air-outlets, 24V or 230V electrical
sockets, illumination, foldable handrails, extend-
able platform sections etc., the system provides
excellent utility especially for aircraft service, but
could be used also for further applications out of
this range.

The proven working platform system grants

safest and stiff stand on the platform deck by
using cantilevered stabilizer supports.

SPECIAL APPLICATIONS
The unique MaxMove carriers can be
provided in customized versions for very special
applications like telehandling or engine loading
tasks for final aircraft assembly.

ENGINE TEST CELL INSTALLATIONS

Beyond the proven access solutions for MRO

and aircraft painting, CTI’s considerable scope
also includes the safe handling of dismantled
aircraft parts. In this area, CTI not only concen-
trates on hangar crane installations, but also on
already realized various handling installations for
engine test cells.

Advanced Engineered Solutions for Aviation

and Space Industry:
Carrier and Monorail Systems for engines
transport from/into test cells
PLC-operated Crane Systems for engine
orientation and alignments
Jigs and Handling Devices for engine
work stations
Work Platforms for engine test runs

CTI applies customized monorail carriers for

overhead transport of the engine package from
the preparation hall into test cells. Twin hoist
carriers equipped with special lift-beams attach
and release engine adapters. The CTI-patented
high capacity track with raised treads assure
trouble-free articulation of the carrier on curves
and effortless travel on straight tracks.

In the preparation hall designated crane bridges

allow transferring the carriers between individual
spurs. Turntables can be provided for inquired
carrier orientation to ease takeover from/to a floor
cart. Interlocks and articulated track ends provide
safe and smooth transfer of the carrier from the
spurs on the bridge and vice-versa.

At the entry of test cell the monorail track is

mounted under a heavy duty slewing ring which
can be turned from 90° open to enable closing of
the heavy test cell door during engine testing.

The CTI work platform inside the test cell grants

access an engine hanging in the thruststand.
In the retracted position the platform flushes with
the floor and heavy floor running equipment (up
to 16 tons) can travel on to the retracted platform.

MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT

CTI handling - Transportation of sensitive

fuselage shells
Even aircraft production facilities rely on CTI's
considerable experience in this specific aviation
field.

It is the combined proven technology and wide

experience in material handling in industrial auto-
mation applications that has led CTI into the field
of aircraft manufacturing.

Consequently, CTI was chosen for the transpor-

tation and handling of the sensitive fuselage shells
for Airbus aircraft applied at the single production
steps for:

• Chemical masking
• Chemical milling
• Painting process
• Assembly lines

Once again, through applying the reliable CTI

monorail system, the client is given a wide variety
of transportation solutions.

CTI handling - Transportation of Airbus

A380 VTP (vertical stabilizer)
When it comes to the manipulation of
composite parts, extremely sensitive handling of
the transportation goods is required.

That is why Airbus in Nordenham/Germany

relies on CTI‘s customized development, compri-

While providing a PLC-controlled lifting and

transportation box will be shipped for final
assembly to the Airbus facilities located in
Toulouse, France.
