performers.

The Process is the secret of truthful acting! It is a systematic approach to acting that guarantees truthful
emotions and a full connection to the life and world of a character. -- Whether in classic and
contemporary acting or musical theatre “The Process” is used in all three disciplines of Acting, Singing
and Dance. Whilst using the fundamental elements of Stanislavski, Meisner, Laban and some aspects of
The Method, it is “The Process” that really is the key to producing truthful performers.)

[BOOK: The Process is a three-pronged system to go from page to stage, it is an approach that provides
a set of tools to create truth. The actor starts with the Mind when beginning to work with the text, this
is the starting point for the character.
The second element of The Process uses the Heart, this is Internalisation, this is the essence of the
character and at the centre of this aspect is the core of The Process, the imagination.
The third element is the Body, which involves the Physicalisation of the character. This is the final
layer of the character and is the external life, the one that the world sees. Once the internal truth has
been created you can use the external exercises to create a complete character.]

The Dorset School of Acting part time classes for adults are based in a local venue with easy access to
