II. Background

Accidents and injuries, including bleeding, fractures, asthmatic and epileptic episodes Drug
overdoses are known to occur in schools because students spend a significant amount of time there.
Although almost all schools have sick bays/clinics, there may be issues with the availability of
necessary medical equipment and trained medical personnel. In such cases, when there is a medical
emergency, the victim may suffer irreversible injury or even die before qualified medical personnel
arrive or before transportation to a hospital. This highlights the significance of basic first aid training
for students, as the goals of administering first aid are to save lives, prevent further damage, and
promote a quick healing process.

Schools provide learning opportunities, and when these abilities are taught to children in
school. The knowledge is likely to be carried over into adulthood. The majority of schools in the
Philippines did not include basic first aid training in their curriculum; this study tends to provide
evidence for the importance of including basic first aid training in schools. As a result, awareness,
knowledge, and students' behavioral perceptions of first aid in a tertiary institution was seen to be
evaluated.

III. Objectives and Methods

 To assess the awareness, knowledge and behavioral perception of first aid among grade 12
HUMSS Students in Padre Garcia Integrated National High School.
 To provide evidence for the need to incorporate basic first aid training into Padre Garcia
Integrated National High School.
 The researcher used the quantitative method as their research design. Quantitative research is
the easiest way to gather data about the students’ awareness and attitudes of students
regarding first aid.

II. Background

In the Philippines, English has long been the second language and it has been taught since
elementary. HUMSS strand is an academic track in Senior High School. HUMSS students must
usually be proficient in writing and speaking. HUMSS students need to know English so they can
communicate with others, acquire employment, and write essays, reports, and so on. Yet, speaking is
a difficult element of learning a language for many students. To create a decent speech, one must
understand grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.

Learning has improved with the level of technology we currently have, particularly learning
through media. Additionally, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of educational
institutions employing mobile apps for teaching and learning has increased significantly. Tiktok was
established to the social media market in September 2016 and soon rose to the top of all social media
sites, particularly in pandemic Tiktok can be regarded as a platform that has attracted people of all
ages all around the world. People's learning methods, such as the TikTok app, must now adapt to
shifting trends and fads, such as the rise of e-learning. TikTok can also be utilized on mobile devices,
which is why it is also referred to as "m-learning." Because "students are increasingly familiar and
absorbed to video arcades, social media, and cellphone applications," college students must be
exposed to the use of social media.

III. Objectives and Methods

 To see the effectiveness of using micro-videos through Tiktok Application in enhancing the
speaking and grammar skills of HUMSS students.

II. Background

English, as the global language, has undeniably elevated its status in worldwide
communication by focusing on both oral and written skills. Nonetheless, according to the study,
speaking English in the Philippines appears to be exceedingly tough, particularly for students in
secondary school. One component that influences the acquisition of English speaking is attitude.
Attitude is defined by the individual's views about the consequences or attributes of executing the
activities (behavioral beliefs), which are weighted by judgments of those outcomes or features.

The concept of attitude is seen as a key component in language learning. As a result, the
canopy of language learning should be a positive mindset. It is critical to investigate the personalities
of learners. As a result, in language study, the effective perspective, particularly attitude, should be
examined. Senior high school students are required to have improved English language proficiency,
particularly in oral communication. Evidently, the majority of the students struggle to follow the class
rules; consequently, the research is limited to determining the students' attitudes regarding speaking in
English. This paper investigates the concept of attitude as one of the primary emotional elements for
student success in speaking English.

III. Objectives and Methods

II. Background

First aid is the giving of limited care for an illness or injury to a sick or injured patient,
usually by a lay person, until formal medical treatment can be obtained or the illness or injury is
treated. It generally consists of a sequence of simple, often life-saving medical methods that may be
taught to anyone, with or without a formal medical experience, with minimal equipment. First aid is
used in a wide variety of medical conditions and comprises of specialized knowledge and abilities as
well as the ability to analyze a situation and make appropriate judgments, such as whether to contact
for emergency medical assistance. There is also a broad category in which FA actually means
delivering the FA, such as commencing a technique such as CPR or defibrillation for a heart attack,
which will be taken over by medical specialists as soon as they become available. Much of FA is
common sense, and most people will learn some elements as they go through life. However,
successful life-saving FA requires excellent hands-on training, especially when dealing with
potentially deadly illnesses and injuries, such as those needing CPR, because the operations may be
invasive and pose a risk of severe injury to the patient. Knowledge of FA measurements is essential
for all individuals of all ages, especially schoolchildren.

This study would be conducted to examine grade 12 HUMSS students' knowledge of first aid
administration. Variables influencing the target population's knowledge and attitudes toward FA
would be identified. Bridging this knowledge gap, combined with the fact that this population group
is more exposed to situations that require FA knowledge, e.g., due to increased outdoor activities, not
only helps them adopt a preventive behavior to emergency occurrences, but also shares educating
their families and peers, and thus contributes significantly to the efforts paid to alleviate the burden of
emergency incidents both inside and outside the school.

III. Objectives and Methods

 This study aimed to assess the awareness of grade 12 HUMSS students regarding first aid.

knowledge and skills to their student community, their families, and the entire population.
 The respondents’ knowledge regarding first aid may increase effectively as well as their self
confidence about their abilities in conducting FA when needed.
