I am applying for this course because I would like to broaden my knowledge about philosophy and

especially about philosopical anthropology. I’ve been focused at the problem of persistence through
time for the last year. That was a valuable experience, which has resulted in innovative ideas and
more competence in ontology.
My idea is to look at the problem of personal identity from an antropological point of view and to
confront that with methaphysical arguments. Perdurantism define a strong possition among
philosophers, because it deal with the problem of change in properties and change in parts. This
theory assume that we all have distinct temporal parts but it’s in conflict with intuition. We have
tendency to think that an idividual is wholly present at every moment of its existence. Kids call
‘mom’ not ‘1736th temporal part of mom’. Suppose you point to a child in an old class photograph
and say, “That’s me.” What makes you that one, rather than one of the others? That’s why I think
that the antropological aspect is so important.
I could talk about it for hours. I am very passionate about my studies and really love the subject.
My teacher from the high school energized my philosophical mind. Being a professional
philosopher, who has never tired of examining his arguments and of looking for better ideas,
became my dream.
At present, I’m preparing high school students for the philosophy olympiad. My protege became a
winner one year ago. I am quite a creative person and use various teaching techniques. I would like
to become a teacher of philosophy. I’m really glad that I can broaden my experience right now.
I am positive, hard-working person who enjoys challenges. I am passionate about mountain
climbing. Thanks to that I learn determination and how to find interial force to act. I believe I could
make a valuable contribution to the course because I'm guided by non-stereotypical thinking. I have
taught myself healthy skepticism and critical thinking.
