RULES &
REGULATIONS
Date: 25th December,2022
Time: 3-9 PM
Location: EQUINOX TURF, KURLA

“The following rules are made by the organizers for the purpose
of the tournament. No amendments will be made to any rules at
any point in time during the tournament. The decision of the
umpires and the scorer (in consultation with organizers) will be
final and over bearing. Cricket is known to be a Gentleman’s
Game and no player is bigger than the game. All the players are
expected to show True Sportsman spirit.”
GENERAL RULES

 This tournament will be underarm tournament.


 Reporting time for all the teams will be 30 mins prior to
the Opening Ceremony of the tournament.
 All matches will be of 5 overs per inning.
 It will be 7 players a side match. In-case of player
shortfall in the team, captain will have to inform the
organizers in prior or else the team will have to play with
the available players.
 All matches will be played using tennis ball and every
innings will be played with a new tennis ball.
 Any No Ball will be penalized by a Free hit.
 After the League format is done, all teams will be sorted
as per points and then as per NRR in the descending
order. In case of a tie, there would be a SUPER OVER .

SUPER OVER RULES

 The team batting second in the main match will bat 1st
in the Super over and vice versa.
 Captain needs to nominate 3 batsmen to play the super
over and 1 bowler.
 Super over will cease if 2 wickets from the batting side
fall before the 6 balls are bowled.
 In case of a tie in Super over then another super over
match played till there is no result of that match.
 The Batsmen and the bowler playing the second super
over match cannot be the same as the first super over
match irrespective of any other criteria.
FIELDING RULES

 The fielding team has to ensure that the players fielding


position has to be in the following manner: 1 (bowler), 1
(wicket keeper) and a maximum of FOUR players behind
the bowler. Else it will be considered as “No-Ball”
 At any point in time during the match the fielding team
can keep as many players ahead of the bowler as they
want .
 Not more than Two fielders can be at the boundary at
any given point in time during the match. Else it will be
considered as “NoBall”.
 In case if ball touches top net (only one touch) and
caught directly, it will be considered as ‘OUT’. This rule
is not applicable if the ball touches the side net.
 If any part of the fielder’s body touches the boundary
net, while the ball is in contact with the body, then it will
be considered as four or six
 In case if the ball goes outside the net (Turf) anywhere
before the boundary line it will be declared as 1 run.
 1-bounce catch will not be considered OUT.
 Anytime during the match any Change in Wicket
Keeper has to be intimated to Umpire else it will be
considered as a “NO Ball”.
 During any time of the match, if any Fielder is standing
behind the bowling wicket in straight line it will be
considered as a No Ball.
BOWLING RULES

 No bowler can bowl more than 1 over in each innings in


all the matches.
 Full toss Ball above the waist line will be considered as
a ‘No ball’. The above rule is Valid only if the batsman
is in regular position & inside the crease.
 1 run each will be allotted for ‘No Balls’ and ‘Wide
balls’ apart from the runs scored in that ball, if any.
 Batsman will not be considered out for LBW.
 Any delivery bouncing before the mid line will be
considered as a “No Ball”. Any Delivery bouncing twice
before the crease but first bounce is after the midline then
it will be declared as a dead ball (The above rule is Valid
only if the batsman is in regular position & inside the
crease or even if the batsman is outside the crease but it
bounces twice before touching the Bat).Dead Ball and
wide together, it will be given as a wide.
 Over stepping of entire foot beyond bowling crease as
well as side stepping beyond the side-line will be
considered “No-Ball”.
 The Bowler need to mention the side from which he is
bowling before starting the over and also side-change if
any during the over. Otherwise it will be a No ball.
 Side arm above while bowling is not allowed. It will be
considered as a “NO BALL”. No roll over arm will be
allowed.
 In case of no ball, the batsman will not be given out for
stumping or catch or clean bowled, he will be given out
only in case of run out. There will be 1 run given for no
ball and ball will not be counted and will be penalized
with a free hit.
 In case of a Run out on a NO BALL, 1 run will be
allotted, the wicket will be given as out but the ball will
not be counted.
 In case of a wide ball, batsman can get out on stumping.
1 run will be allotted for wide and ball will not be
counted.

BATTING RULES

 There will be runs for overthrows.


 If the current Batsman is catch out, new Batsman will
come on the Strike even if the non-striker Batsman has
crossed the crease. This rules doesn't apply in case of
runout.
 The team’s innings will be completed at the fall of the
6th wicket. (Note: In case of team playing with more/less
than 7 players criteria will change).
 No runners allowed for the batsmen unless of serious
injury, and if there is a requirement of a runner then it
has to be informed beforehand to the Umpires /
Organizers (Age factor may be considered).

LEAGUE RULES

 Top 4 teams will qualify for play offs.


 In case teams have same points than team having
superior run rate will qualify for the play offs.
 No substitutes will be given.
 Every no ball will be followed by free hit.
 Regarding any decision only captain or committee can
talk to umpires. Forceful argument with players or
umpires happens than the team will be disqualified or
will be penalized with 5 runs.
 Umpire decision is Final Decision.
 If ball goes directly in goal post straight to stumps than
it will be 10 runs.
 No pace restriction.
 In Mankad bowler should give atleast a warning before
getting the batsman out.

POWERPLAY RULES
Q&A

 Can we take few steps before the bowling?


 A box will be created within which you have to bowl.

 Can we use fibre bat?


 Fibre bats are not allowed. Team Will have to carry their
own bats for their convenience.

 1D clarification – if it goes outside the turf


 In any instance, if ball goes outside the turf (except for
the net on the boundary side) it will be considered as 1D.
In case of over throw if it goes outside the net from any
side (except the boundary side net), it will be a 2D.

 What if any body part touches the stumps while bowling


 If any body part touches the stumps while bowling, it
will be given as a no ball.

 Can we change a bowler in the middle of the over?


 Bowler can't be changed after bowling a legal delivery.
