    Telephoning is a better way of communicating with people than writing letters nowadays.
    Discuss.

    People‘s opinion on this issue differs widely. It is said that letters are no longer efficient, and
    telephones have become more widespread as a means of communication.

    One of the main advantages of ... is that ...  /     in the first place ...  /    firstly /    to begin

    Secondly     /    thirdly     /     lastly                          /       last but not least

    One of the main advantages of telephoning is that you have instant communication which is
    important if you need a plumber, for instance. Moreover, if you want to ask something like „what
    time does the next train leave?” Telephoning is essential. And last but not least, researchers say
    that telephoning is a great way to keep contact with family and friends.

    On the other hand, there are also a number of disadvantages.


    Firstly, one reason against ... is that ...
    What is more, the first disadvantage leads us to mention another one which is

    In addition, another important disadvantage must be highlighted, which is that....

    On the other hand, there are also a number of disadvantages to telephoning. Firstly, one reason
    against telephoning is that some problems are too complicated to be explained on the phone,
    especially if there are facts and figures. you lose personal contact. What is more, this first
    disadvantage leads us to mention another one which is that it might be important to have a record
    of what one said, particularly if it is a booking or a complaint.  Lastly, telephoning, long-distance in
    particular, can be expensive.

    Taking everything into account it can be said that telephoning has become the main means of
    communication today. Nevertheless, if I had to communicate formally, I would definitely use a
    letter. 
    Preparing food and eating at home has more advantages than eating in
    restaurants and ordering takeaway meals. Discuss.
