Supported operating systems

This article applies to all TeamViewer users.

General
TeamViewer is available for the operating systems listed below. You can download the
current version of TeamViewer from our website.

Links to older versions of TeamViewer can be found in our Knowledge Base.

Windows
¹ Includes support for Windows 10 IoT Enterprise editions. However, Windows 10 IoT Core
and Windows Embedded systems are not supported.

² Windows Server Core installations are not supported.

³ Internet Explorer 8.0 or later is required.

Note: we are no longer actively servicing Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista,
or Windows Server 2000/2003/2008. You can continue using the last supported version of
TeamViewer on those operating systems, but we are no longer providing updates or fixes
which are specific to them. See this announcement for more details

Note: We have tested TeamViewer on the Windows 10 October 2020 Update (version
20H2) and we announce full support of this new Windows update for TeamViewer 15.11 and
newer.

Note: Windows released a new OS Windows 10 May 2021 Update. We tested


TeamViewer in the latest release and can confirm that all basic features work as expected,
however - further tests are pending to announce full support of the new OS. Please see this
announcement for more information and to share your feedback with our development.

macOS
Note: We are no longer actively servicing macOS 10.6 to 10.12. You can continue using
the last supported version of TeamViewer on those operating systems, but we are no longer
providing updates or fixes which are specific to them. See this announcement for more details

Note: We have adapted TeamViewer to the Apple Silicon Macs already and we announce
full support of this hardware for TeamViewer 15.12 and newer.

Note: Currently, there is no possibility to enable "Lock Computer" remotely on macOS


Big Sur. The button for this is therefore disabled when connected to a Mac running Big Sur.

Linux
Note: TeamViewer can also run on a number of other distributions, although we don't
officially provide support for them.

Android
• TeamViewer Remote Control: Android 4.4 or later.
• TeamViewer QuickSupport: Android 4.4 or later.
• TeamViewer Host: Android 4.4 or later.

Note: Individual APK installer files can also be downloaded from our website for
sideloading.

iOS and iPadOS


• TeamViewer Remote Control: iOS 12 or later or iPadOS 13.
• TeamViewer QuickSupport: iOS 12 or later or iPadOS 13.

Note: As of May 26th, 2020, TeamViewer no longer actively supports iOS 10 or 11 for
upcoming app releases. See this announcement for more information.

Chrome OS
• TeamViewer Remote Control: Chrome 38 or later.
• TeamViewer QuickSupport: For devices that support Android apps.
• TeamViewer Host: For devices that support Android apps.

Note: TeamViewer QuickSupport and Host are available using our Android apps, which
are supported on all Chrome OS devices launched since 2019, and some Chrome OS devices
launched before 2019. A list of Chrome OS devices launched before 2019, which support
running Android apps, can be found on Google's website.

Also note that the QuickSupport and Host apps only provide screen sharing on Chrome OS.
Full remote control of Chrome OS is not possible.

Web Services
In order to provide the most secure level of encryption to our users, we are removing support
of Transport Layer Security (TLS) versions 1.0 and 1.1 from our web services in October
2020. This includes our Management Console and our web-based API.

Transport Layer Security is a protocol used to provide encrypted communication on the web.
After October 2020, we will only support TLS version 1.2.

If you are using an up-to-date browser and you don't use our API, no further action is required
from you. All current browser versions already support TLS 1.2.
If you are using a browser version that is several years old, we recommend updating it to the
latest version.

And if you are a developer using our API to integrate TeamViewer functionality into other
solutions, please ensure your HTTP client supports TLS 1.2.
